The Foreign Press Association in London is the oldest and largest association of foreign correspondents in the world. It was founded in 1888 when journalists from across Europe arrived in London to cover the story of Jack the Ripper. King Charles attended the awards as The Prince of Wales in 2008 and is also an honorary member of the FPA.

  1. I realize it's the way the designer intended it, but to me the overall look of QC would look a lot nicer if the dress is a couple of inches shorter for the queen. Her shoes look elegant are deserve to be seen. QC looks good though.

    1. Yes, exactly - a couple of inches could make such a huge difference. Visible legs (and not just their thinnest part, which is the worst possible choice) is always a plus, this applies not only to her. (GM)

    2. Agree with both comments. Lovely dress in a great colour but it would be so much better if a few inches shorter (or full length). Great shoes for a change. Overall, a good look

Keep up the good work team😁

  6. That’s a lovely shade of green and a very becoming dress for her majesty. I like her soft hair colour and the cut. She looks fabulous.

  7. What a lovely dress
And through this type of velvet you see all kind of green colours. It gives a very vivid impression.

  8. This is a new, excellent look: the shoes, the hose, the clutch, the dress fabric and it is ready-made, which makes me think that her advisers should look around for similar creations. Nothing house-wifey here.

  9. Earrings that cost 55 600 euros. Don't know what to say...

Oh la, la 55 600 € pour ses boucles d'oreilles de Van Cleef & Arpels ? Je préfèrerais mettre mon argent dans un choix plus vestimentaire !

    3. Agree, the earrings do not go with this outfit and occasion. A little bit over the top. The colour of the dress is good. Edwina

    4. 17:45 This is a years salary for many people. These ladies may have married into position, but would it kill them to show a little sobriety and restraint. SA

  10. Beautiful dress! QC looks lovely in that emerald green. Its beautifully fitted and just like the description say, elegant. Its great to see QC in a modern designer--hope her design team continues to seek new fashion designers although I do like Anna Valentine. My only quibble is the one so many of us see with Sophie--the length. Should have been shorter or full length.

    1. In a recent article, Camilla’s long standing hairdresser, Jo Hansford, has now celebrated her 30th year of service to the British hairdressing industry.
She has been a hairdresser to some very important ladies, including Camilla.
She has gained international acclamation for her skills with colour and styling.
I think any change would only come about if Mme Hansford gave her blessing.
American Vogue described her as the “best tinter on the planet”.

  13. This dress is really quite pretty, love this shade of green, as others have said, it is a tad long.

  14. She is not dressed appropriately if you compare her with the other ladies. Does ME + EM designed this dress especially for her ? I see they didn't forgot the zipper.

    1. Us older ladies usually stay
more covered up. Appropriate for our age group.

As long as she will stay in that same old style, the best fabric and the most expensive dress will never look good on her. It has nothing to do with being more or less covered up. There are a lot of better outfits for a lady of her age group.

    3. As this is a commercial, non royal event, dressing up to the nines is not necessary IMO.

  16. Her Majesty's look is just perfect. (Loving all our royal ladies succumbing to beguiling rich velvets at the moment...) The color is wonderful, jewelry hair and make-up all flawless. Happiness.

  17. The first thing that hit me as “off note” was the earrings.
Magnificent as they are, they don’t go well against the colour of Camilla’s dress.
A confection with emeralds would go better, IMO, to complete her ensemble.
In photo N°6, the earrings, the glasses and the dress just don’t make a good visual marriage.
