On October 2, Queen Mathilde visited the new facilities of the Jules Bordet Institute in the Erasmus campus of the Free University of Brussels in Anderlecht. The Institute Jules Bordet is the only autonomous hospital in Belgium totally dedicated to cancer. The Queen toured the Nuclear Medicine Department and the day clinic, where she spoke with patients.

This is a lovely dress for (and on) Mathilde. I like the cap sleeves and the houndstooth in B&W, but best of all, the dress is a high-waist style which suits Mathilde's body type perfectly. The length is also correct. Very nice!

Dress is okay but I think it would have looked better with a short sleeve of some kind. The shoes are fantastic

That´s the most unflattering sleeveless style I know. Just adding simple cap sleeves would have turned this into a pretty dress. Also, as much as I love her shoes, together with the dress they´re overkill. I would have gone for some colour, ideally red, and saved the shoes to spice up some solid-colour outfit.
ردحذفGreat dress and the shoes are to die for. With her high waist perhaps a thinner belt would have been better. I also love the way it is styled by the model with black boots.
ردحذفLove the shoes but would love to see more colorful accessories with this dress, maybe red or burgundy for autumn. I also think lipstick is helpful when you get to middle age to brighten the face.

I like both this dress and the shoes very much. If I were the Queen, I think I might have chosen perhaps a bright primary color for the shoes, and saved the houndstooth shoes for an outfit with a solid black skirt or trousers, so they could really shine. Regardless, HM Q Mathilda looks beautiful in this well-fitted dress that flatters her immensely.

ردحذفI think these cap sleeves are nice for her because they balance a very slim upper body against a not quite slim hip. A straight skirt is usually better for her because of above mentioned hips, but she nevertheless, we cannot always dress in order to hide this or that body part - because all in all, she looks very good. Minus the shoes, simple black ones would have been better and a bit of lipstick is sorely missed. (GM)

ردحذفLove this dress on QM!!! The style and fit very much flatter Mathilde. I love the houndstooth fabric--the small and uniformity of this type of print also very much flatter her. The shoes are fabulous but I wish she had worn plain shoes in black or another color for a big pop of color. Still, she looks smasing here!!! Perhaps a bit more Carolina Herrera should be added to her closet.

ردحذفWhy a lot of people always want to change something on Queen Mathilde's outfits. The dress is like Caroline Herrera designed it and the shoes are part of it. I think she looks very lovely in this dress and find it a good idea to repeat it, now that we are living a very long Indian summer. I also understand why she didn't use a red lipstick or accessories. She is not going to a party but to support also the patients who are treated there and to respect the privacy of the patients, there are no pictures of that part of the visit. Rose
