The bride's dress is simple but beautiful.
Grand Duchess Maria Theresa's dress is tasteless, it looks like it came from a Chinese market - especially the glitter appliqué in the front (cheap and low-quality clothes imported from China). The earrings are also tacky. Why a woman who has access to beautiful classic jewelry of the highest level wears these carnival pieces is beyond my understanding.
Princess Stéphanie's dress looks like a Buddhist monk's robe or an orange blanket - it's shapeless and wrinkled.
Being a member of the royal family is obviously not a guarantee of good taste.
Compared to them, the dress of the groom's mother looks very elegant, although this dress suits tall ladies better.

Sadly, I must mostly agree with you. I don't mind the glitter on GDM, however, her shoulders should be covered with tailored sleeves. I'm only 45, and I try to wear sleeves (mostly elbow) on everything because skin ages and we don't need to show it off all the time. Also, if she had a tailored sleeve, she could let the appliqué shine a bit more - although, it is quite a weird appliqué unless there is some strawberry significance for the bride or groom. Overall, they are the worst dressed royals.

The bride's wedding gown with the cut down to the navel is strange and tasteless for a church wedding, the same as GD Maria Teresa's dress IMO.

    4. and i thought Duchess Maria Teresa was the best dress, i saw the full dress, she looked lovely, her arms look lovely and flattering. You are never too old to wear a sleeveless dress.

Duchess Maria's arms look amazing. @MrsPageants in USA, faces age too, does that mean we should wear a face mask to cover up when we age.

These two show their happiness, they are just beaming. Nice to see so many family members present at this wedding. The new ADss wears a simple but very lovely gown. Not a fan of MT and Stephanies gown, but the colors are nice and strong. I actually like ADss Marie Astrids gown, very lovely. I think Imre's and Christoph's daughters had been flower girls? Hope we will get more photos in a few day's. css

This is the first time the women at an event are giving absolutely zero fashion vibes, to the extent that the gentlemen are the more fashionable guests at the event! GD Henri looks dashing. Always great to coordinate the tie color. The groom and other men also look very nice.

The bride's low cut, down to her navel, is just not good. The Grand Duchess looks okay, but that attire is better suited for an awards show. And Princess Stephanie is badly in need of a steamer to get some of those wrinkles out of her pumpkin-colored sack dress. Her changes to the dress are not an improvement.

Nonetheless, everyone looks very, very happy. So, I guess that's what matters most. Best to the bride and groom.

    1. Dear ladies look again. I think hat it is not bare flesh plunging to her waistline. The brides dress actually has a high round neckline right up to that pearl drop. The fabric used in the spilt is just skin coloured to make it appear like an open V. The fabric looks like it is wrinkling slightly just under the necklace near her shoulder and is a different flesh tone to her skin above the necklace. I may be mistaken but I am pretty sure that is what it is.

The bride looks radiant; although I think the split right to the belt line on the bodice would have been perfected by sewing it together. Stephanie looks beautiful in that colour.

    1. They all look really happy which is clearly the best thing at a wedding! I thought the neckline of the brides wedding gown was rather strange too but in other photos you can see that there is actually a contrasting material joining the two pieces. Why not have it white? I love the colour of GD Maria Teresa's dress but the off the shoulder shawl seems odd. Again I like the colour of Stephanie's dress but it's just a wodge of material without shape or style. I love Princess Marie Astrid but the dress reminds me of a pagoda

I am sure it is not a real split on the bride's gown for a religious wedding, there is a skin-toned layer there. But it gives the illusion of a split, which is not a good choice, because - what for? - MT looks fabulous for me, not everything that glitters is Chinese. Stephanie can wear orange really well, but this is an example of simply too much orange with no perceivable form or design at all. Marie-Astrid's dress looks as if it was sent to a ruffle competition, to outnumber any other dresses with respect to ruffles ... what a faux pas. (GM)

  8. The bridal gown looks superb, simple elegant lines. I love the waistline defined, not sure if it is embellished regardless very effective and pretty. One thing I don't like is the deep slit at the bodice area. The veil and headpiece look fabulous. Her simple pearl necklace and earrings are perfect. Simple, subtle and elegant.
The Zimmermann gown I love. I don't normally like frills and tiers such as this, but this gown works well. It is a busy gown, but with the height of Marie Astrid she carries this gown beautifully. The colors are gorgeous. The long double strand pearl necklace is a lovely touch.
GD MT's gown, does not appeal to me at all. The color is quite nice, but the large, loud embellishments splayed across the bodice is unattractive and the style of the gown I don't like at all, especially for a wedding. Her earrings are very unattractive and border on gaudy. A lovely pair of diamond stud earrings/pearls or such like, with what she has to choose from within her jewel collection would have looked elegant. These earrings she chose are ugly.
Princess Stephannie's gown I don't like. The color is not appealing. The style and design on her does not look good Imo. On the model it looks okay, I feel the way it is worn by the Model, off the shoulder and draped piece loose looks okay, but there is a lot of fabric. Maybe if the cut of the gown was different, less fabric and Stephanie wore the dress how the model is posing, it might look completely different overall. Stephanie's hair up style looks great.

"the height of Marie Astrid" ? She isn't that tall. Look at the family picture N° 11, she is a little bit taller than Maria-Teresia.

Again, complaints that a garment has wrinkles and going so far as to suggest that Stephanie acquaint herself with a steamer, as though she left for the wedding with a wrinkled gown. No one left wrinkled. The wrinkles occurred naturally. Is it that important to find something negative to say? This gown is 78% acetate, a fabric that wrinkles easily.

It is a shame that Stephanie didn't wear the gown correctly. If she wasn't comfortable in a one shouldered gown, she should have worn something else instead of trying to wear this on both shoulders.

This comment is comical. So, you have the right to speak to the shame that she didn't wear the dress correctly and actually go to the extent of suggesting she wear something else entirely, but others are being negative by pointing out the very wrinkled fabric? Ha!

Fashion wise: I like the wedding dress, although I wouldn't choose one with a cut this deep when you go to church. If the cut would have been closed with white fabric instead of skin coloured fabric, it would have looked great too.

I like the outfits of Maria-Theresia and Stephanie. They look bright and happy and fit for this occasion. I assume Maria-Theresia covered her shoulders inside the church. I strongly disagree with opinions stated on this blog saying women of a certain age should cover their shoulders. She looks fine for a wedding.

Also want to mention that I saw pictures of Guillaumes brothers and sister attending the wedding, as have at least queen Mathilde and Joachim from Belgium. I have visited the castle of Beloeil in the past: it is beautiful, a wonderful place to get married. Damsel Dragonfly

  15. I don’t know what the bride is trying to say with the deep vee bodice on her wedding dress.
It gives the impression that the opening is down to the waist but if you can get a close up of it, the lower part is stitched together with what appears to be a skin coloured fabric with the embroidery going right down to the waist.
I call it a “teaser” style dress technique which is IMO not for a church wedding. More for the honeymoon.

Bride: Even with the nude panel in the low V-neckline, that is never a good look for anyone's bridal gown. The side seams are puckered from poor craftmanship, and the overall look is just not well done.
It's been stated before: Horrible look, for GD Maria Theresa, trashy is never classy, especially at a wedding.
Stephanie: Not a great colour, nor design of gown, especially the cutout sleeves.
Queen M is wearing a nice gown, one we've seen before.
The gentlemen all appear quite well suited, and the best is the Classic gray car! Edwina

As far as the bride goes, she looks beautiful. A simplistic dress other than the plunge (and if you look very, very closely, there is nude netting in that deep plunge). As for those that say it's tasteless, it's your right to your opinion. Everything is covered, and it's not like she looks like she is a video vixen with everything hanging out. I personally think it looks great, and I always say, if the bride loves it and is confident, that's all that matters. However, the crowd was sorely disappointing on fashion looks. The only saving grace was the lovely Zimmermen dress.

The blond lady in blue ( mother of the bride I guess) is the most elegant and best dressed in my opinion. The pattern and colors of Mathilde s dress are beautiful, and marvelous matching earrings, but I Am not a fan of high necklines. Mathilde s hair and makeup somehow don’t look finished.
