    1. Yes, the bright colours are part of her gay and happy personality.
The 'thing' she has on her head is just pure Maxima.
My favourite 'fun Queen'. Love her to death.
When she has a girl's nigtht out, I hope I get and invitation. 😁

  4. I do not understand her jewelery choices here. I assume each piece means something to her and she likes it. But to throw it all together on your arms and hands without a concept looks wild to me.

It is not only Queen Maxima who is wearing different pieces of jewelry in different styles and colors together. I've already seen it on other royal ladies too. Of course they don't do it when they have to wear their tiaras and diamond earrings and bracelets, but in every day live they are wearing a mix of jewelry which have special signification. You see this also among the younger generation of royal families and of course among common people. I am having the impression that after the outbreak of the Corona virus people in general are taking life more from the easy side. They don't bother anymore about little details which in fact are not very important. They understand that life is too short to worry about all these little details. Rose.

Re : photo N°5, the jewelry.
Amongst the bits and pieces Maxima is wearing, there could be the fine bracelet in gold and sapphires depicting the Greek evil eye (matiasama).
If so, maybe the ‘matiasma’ is from her holiday shopping in Greece.
To catch the curse of the ‘matisama’ the person will usually feel bad physically or mentally. Or in simple terms bad things will happen.
Maybe ex Tulipe33 (Achard62) could throw a bit of light on the subject.

Layering bracelets, even with a watch, has been on trend for several years. It goes back decades actually. There are pictures of famous women who were layering bracelets in the 20s and 30s, the 50s and beyond.

@deadeggs. The "evil eye" bracelets she is wearing could be bought in Greece but not at her last holiday, since she has those bracelets for a couple of years now. CP Amalia also has a bracelet like that or she borrowed one from her mother. Rose

I like the color of her dress but the flower on the side of her head doesn’t work in my opinion. And though I know it’s been commented on endlessly but her hair is a disaster but that’s just Maxima I guess?

Why she can't just trim it to collarbone length is beyond me.

@Anonymous 01:47. Even then her hair will not be thicker. Over the years it became thinner and thinner. Probably due to all the treatment to make it blonder. Rose

It has been commented on endlessly because it is usually not styled and very unhealthy looking. I, too have thin hair but I also know how to use a curling iron/brush. It does wonders. Also, while the color of the dress is pretty, the flower on her head is not.

  6. Her hairstyle may be difficult (or very difficult) to understand). Since I am a person who likes looking beyond the very traditional concepts, I admit you can see this style of harshly unevenly layered hair cut in fashion magazines, so it must be appreciated by "some". Just look to some women on the street. I don't want to enter into the debate whether it is appropriate for her or not.

    1. Dear MaryT. Take a look on the net at hairstyles "Shaggy Chic".
The style has been around for quite awhile and still appears today.
I think it is for the wearer to have a low maintenance hairdo.
This could explain Maxima's choice for a style like this. .
A morning shower, a quick blowdry and then it's off to work.

  8. Un carré court dégradé pour doper ses cheveux avec un simple serre-tête, elle serait parfaite dans cette robe lumineuse !

  9. I liked the dress for the previous occasion, but here, I think it´s all wrong. The headpiece ruins the whole look as it is too prim and formal to work with this edgy dress. And if you´re going for formal and dress up with fascinator and all, your hair cannot just remain a stringy unkempt mess.
Agree with Beth about the random choices of jewellery. Nothing here looks coordinated.

In my opinion, this outfit can be summed up in one word - chaos. Does she choose the jewelry with her eyes closed? But they are probably not real jewelry, but probably costume jewelry. Each of us has different criteria for what is elegant and what is tacky. So according to my criteria - dare I say it openly and freely - Maxima showed bad taste.

@ Anonymous 18:16 Not everyone can go barefoot in closed shoes. I never could. I have very sensible skin and if I tried to wear no tights, I had wounds on my feet after half a day in the office. What she could do is wearing tights that are not so visible. It all depends on the brand or the quality or the color of the tights. Rose

I agree that the hair and the fascinator are a complete mismatch, but otherwise I think the outfit is fine even with the jumble of jewels. Q. Max is a fascinating dresser, often marching to the beat of her own drum. Her evening outfits can be utterly spectacular; yet her choices for daytime are often hard to understand. Regardless, she seems to have tremendous confidence and for someone in the public eye, that’s a huge asset. (V.M.)

The most remarkable feature of this dress is surely the colour, which is the signature of the House van Oranje- Nassau.
This dress has an interesting design, even though it could have been just a Little bit shorter.
Maxima could have paired nude or powder pumps, brown not being the best match imo.
Not sure that this headpiece was a good idea.
All in all, Maxima rocks and her smile and bubbling personality are so engaging!
