I do not like this dress, but it is my personal taste. But for the first time in a very very long time, her hair looks good!

    1. I think we have the usual scenario : great attention to hair for evening events which includes extensions, color enhancement etc.... while on many day occasions, she prefers to stick to her casual hair style based on a rough layered cut and minimal styling. Or occasionly a hair updo. We have to accept this from Maxima.

Could it be called the Legendary Maxima hole in on dress?

That very very long time is exactly 11 days ago :-) . She had a professionally made hairstyle for an occasion that made it necessary (Prinsjesdag). (GM)

I think the dress will be polarizing.

😂 I love the way you’ve worded this, Mary T. It’s certainly not a pleasure in my view either. Hair looks great, though

Q.Maxima looks magnificent in the second pic, definitely closer to my idea of bombastic!
BUT the gown seen full length,...
    next, please....

Why would one even design a dress inspired, apparently, by smallpox?

Maxima herself looks beautiful, but what was the dress designer thinking? Less is more?! I hope the royal family got a discount on the dress for all the holes, eh?! - AnneLise

She looks very glamorous tonight. Not my favourite dress but there is something fun and edgy about it.

The dress when it was new I found it special, would not have bought it for myself, but if there is one royal who can wear this it is Queen Maxima.
Today I was very surprised when I saw a close-up of the fabric (2nd picture). It looks like the fabric has suffered from a washing or dry cleaning process. It must be impossible to iron such a dress. I suppose the only way one can iron a dress like that is to use a steam device and steam it instead of iron it. Rose

Glad to see Maxima promoting a flashy Claes Iversen creation for worthy purposes. Whether I like it or not is irrelevant.

Drugs can do good in the right dosage. This dress is like an overdose. Of course, Máxima can wear it and smile as if nothing was wrong (and I smile back, as always). But even Máxima does not make it better then what it is. (GM)

She wore it once before, it was bad then, the fabric is not quality, has not aged well, and the dress looks worse than the first wearing. Hopefully the garment will be put in the bin. Edwina

I am still not a fan of this dress -. You ve seen it once, and you will never forget it - very original to say the least… I love the colors though and Maxima looks beautiful.

  19. Can you just imagine what transpired in her dressing room when her assistant or stylist or whoever pulled out this number? I can only imagine that the whole room erupted into laughter!! Sometimes I think Q. Maxima wears this type of dress just for fun. She always has a big smile on her face as if to say "laugh with me, this is just too funny".

  26. What a kick! A great dress for a gala, and Queen Maxima has a good figure for it. The hair and makeup are on point for the event.

  27. The Queen looks beautiful. Her hair and makeup are on point. Love the large gold earrings, perfect choice, I would so love a pair of these earrings!
The gown though not to my tastes, on this occasion the Queen looks sensational wearing it, in a way only she can! She has the natural flair and personality to wear this and look comfortable, nothing self-conscious about it.

  29. She actually should have this hair stylist move to the palace ! But the dress is terrible. She may be the only royal that can wear it because no other royal would be caught wearing it!

I suddenly saw something I didn't notice yesterday. The first time she wore the dress the waistband was thin, the picture that was taken on Friday shows a broad waistband the same as on the model.
I also noticed that the dress is shorter than the first time, maybe it shrunk.
If QM decides to throw it away, she should not forget to separate the metal from the rest (or is it plastic that looks like metal ?). Rose
