On September 8, 2023, King Charles and Queen Camilla attended a private service of prayer, as they paid a personal tribute to Queen Elizabeth II on the anniversary of her death. The service of prayer took place at Crathie Parish Church, near Balmoral. Queen Elizabeth II passed away at age 96 on 8 September 2022.
Tenues adéquates pour tous les deux ; j'adore voir le roi porter un style de kilt dans de nouvelles couleurs ; quant à Camilla, je remarque qu'elle a su bien adopter ses chaussures camel qui doivent être confortables !
ReplyDeleteWhy King Charles cannot wait until Queen Camilla is next to him. I am having the impression that she is running after him like a little dog.
ReplyDeleteCamilla is wearing one of her usual dresses. Doesn't she has a better jacket to wear with it ? This looks more like a light Summer sweater. Or maybe the weather in Balmoral is hot too so that she prefers some light cardigan that she can take off when it gets too hot. Rose
Remember you only see a single moment in the photos - and it’s possible that they weren’t expecting press here as she looks a little surprised and Charles looks like he’s heading up the stairs to greet someone with a smile perhaps.
Deletethe well wishers are respectfully dressed unlike Queen Camilla. At another memorial service the princess of Wales is dressed
Deleteelegantly.

Rose, my thoughts exactly.
DeleteThe King never waits for his partner, nor with Diana, nor with Camilla, who looks around and follows him.
William and Cate always operate as a pair, William gives attention to his wife.
This said, Camilla doesnot seem to mind ( who can change his/ her partner).
I like her dress but the cardigan seems a bit casual.

I noticed the same thing. Charles is running off without Camilla. Not very gentlemanly.
DeleteThe weather is unusually warm in Scotland (and also in the rest of the UK) for this time of year.
DeleteYou are absolutely correct, Rose. Weather in Scotland has been amazing this last week. 27degrees C in Glasgow today and similar in most of the country 😎. Like this nice blue dress in her go to style. The King as smart as always in his kilt

A sad day, a sad loss.
ReplyDeleteMay Queen Elizabeth rest in peace.
Camilla’s unbuttoned cardi looks a bit too casual for the occasion.
I think Camilla’s fashion preference is comfort.
She's happy to let other Queens get the "wow" votes.
I am sure today is a difficult day for KCIII and his family. Not really sure its a day to reflect on fashion other than to say that QC's choice of a simple dress, nothing new or fancy, speaks to her respect for the significance of today.

The dress is very nice, but more suitable for an informal meeting. I agree with Rose that a smart jacket would be much more appropriate. Plus, I love it when Camilla and Charles are color coordinated and most of the time they are, but not in this case.

What is happening to Camilla? It is not an appropriate dress for a queen on such an occasion. In that cardigan and dress she looks like she's come out of the garden or the castle kitchen. I'm sorry, but in the old days she was always well dressed with beautiful jewellery. It seems that she does not want to accept her role as queen. Irene
ReplyDeletei totally agree, she is not well advised. she is not as as elegant as the late Queen or other European queens her age group have more class.

DeleteCamilla never wanted to be Queen. She didn’t want the title, she wanted to remain as Princess something or other.
She publicly stated this.
It was Queen Elizabeth who said, just before she died that Camilla should have the title and role as Queen.
Twenty years before that, the Queen referred to her as “that woman” and had her banned from royal events.
Sometimes I think that the Queen knew that Camilla would have problems and difficulties handling the role and gave her order (the Queen's) as a final poisoned gift to Camilla (and Charles) for the scandal they had caused the royal family.
Whatever, Camilla as Queen = very bad casting.

Sorry, Queen Camilla, the dress is floaty and better than the zipper type, but the sloppy cardigan is not what the consort of an elegant king should be wearing.

Well said!
DeleteKing Charles seems to be moving too fast on this holiday. Poor Camilla is always dragging behind and he doesn’t even give her enough time to change her dress after geting in from doing the grocery shopping (see photo N°1).
DeleteShe’ll be pleased to get back to Buck house and telephone Harrods for the grocerys with their home delivery service.
Lovely dress and color. Maybe a short little blazer would have looked better than this cardigan? The King seems to be in hurry, or he is leading the way? css
ReplyDeleteI am a little bit disappointed that there had not been any more members, of the RF present at the Service for the late Queen. josebabe.
ReplyDeleteOther members of the family were elsewhere. Prince and Princess of Wales at St David's in Wales, Prince Harry at Windsor Castle.
DeleteStill unreal ! Time flies, can't believe already 1 year! The British monarchy is never the same without her.
ReplyDeleteTo all those critical of Queen Camilla, please see my comment above. It was baking hot in Scotland today. It's very welcome but very unusual. I suspect that, as my family does when we head north, Queen Camilla will have taken her usual Highland holiday wardrobe of warm sweaters, warm coats and waterproof jackets and has now been caught out by the heatwave. Sadly we're back to usual next week.
ReplyDeleteCamilla looks so casual and slightly unkempt. I know there's a need to economize but goodness, she could use some new suits and more structured dresses. Wonder if my favorite fashion designing queen Margrethe has time to advise her? Wouldn't that be fun!
ReplyDeleteSounds a good idea. But it could be a big waste of time.
DeleteThere’s an age-old expression that says ……….
“you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear”.
The King looks very elegant and well groomed. The Queen looks nice, but I feel a jacket would have been better than the cardigan she is wearing, regardless she looks lovely.
