She is a nice lady. I like the skirt, although I would recommend a blouse of a different cut (this one is more suited to a business suit).

What I don't like - her hairstyle. Still the same, unrefined knot at the back. I think it would suit her with her hair down. That hairstyle - the one she has now - I wear when I'm cleaning my house or when I'm working in the garden and I have to bend over to keep my hair from falling into my face while I'm working.

Probably you have not only a different hair structure, but also a different hairstyle taste. Which is fully OK, really - I just would wish for a more respectful way of expressing dislike, without deprecating her preferred hairstyle ("good enough for house cleaning"). (GM)

Same opinion re blouse. I think we have seen this skirt at least once with a simple shoulder free black top (in Sydney), it was excellent, and another time with a blue top, also collarless and simple. Everything better than a buttoned and collared shirt, however flowy it is, with these beautiful wide skirts. (GM)

very 'house cleaning' hair style, there are more presentable ways of styling a knot.

Victoria is such a hard worker, representing her country in the best way possible!

I like her more in the other skirts she has in the same style. Rose

Neat, elegant and always generously smiley. I really appreciate the rewearing of clothes by some of these royal ladies who are so photographed and so criticised fashion-wise. - AnneLise

We have seen this skirt many times before and it looks much better worn with a more fitted top. I like the fabric and colorer the skirt. The blouse is beautiful but just not with this skirt.

Agree. Much nicer with a plain black t shirt.

  7. This type of blouse is difficult to wear. It´s too silky and shiny to work as a basic button-down blouse with a suit. It´s too business-like to work as evening wear. And most of all, it´s too 80s and looks either dated or too old for her.
The skirt is good but given its volume it really needed a fitted top to balance it out. The model got it right (except for the shoes).
All in all, I´d say Victoria looks polished but boring. With the right styling (fitted top, interesting piece of jewellery, more flattering hair style), she had the potential to be stunning but wasted the opportunity.

You are right AnneLise. Those who let their hair down are recommended to wear a pony tail or a knot. Those who are wearing a knot are recommended to let their hair down. I am sure the day CP Victoria decides to let her hair down, the hair police will start to send their critics that her hair is to curly and not thick enough etc... It is so easy to criticize someone else. Rose

Hi Rose! I have a secret theory that Victoria wears her hair in a bun for all professional work as a delineation of where her public life starts and ends; and wears her hair differently in private time. She spent quite some years in anxiety (torment probably) over this role and managed masterfully to regain balance. She would no doubt be horrified by the criticism on this blog, when she is splendidly doing her very best every day. - AnneLise

This skirt looks better with the slim-fitting black top she has worn before. -Mrs C

@Froufrou. Pourquoi la Princess Anne ne change pas sa coiffure ? Elle a la même coiffure plus longtemps que CP Victoria a la sienne, pour la simple raison qu'elle est plus agée que Victoria.

  12. An elegant and modern look. Very nice on Victoria's frame. A fitted top could be a nice alternative on other wears.

I'd like to see Victoria in edgier shoes, but it's likely more practical to go with versatile heels like these.

Nice skirt, maybe an off the shoulder top would have been more affective. css

Love this skirt! Very pretty and quite versatile. Wish she had chosen a less structured blouse--soemthing softer. I also think a very simple black blouse would have been a better color choice. Still, Victoria looks great.

  15. The blouse is gorgeous, I love this very much, but not with this skirt. The skirt I am not a fan of, alo't of fabric and too bulky. Regardless of my tastes the CP looks lovely. Love the black shoes, and clutch.

Did anyone took a good look at picture 2 and 4 ? The lady in the red flower dress who is standing next to CP Victoria is wearing almost the SAME SHOES as Queen Maxima in black. Rose

A simple top (don't like a shirt to outfits like this), and another hair style would really have made a wow, no it's just a naahh. To much grandma vibe ;)
