On August 26, Swedish King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia attended the Swedish Royal Vintage Rally 2023 (Svenska Kungsrallyt) on the island of Öland. The biennial Royal Rally is an event focusing on old cars. The King arrived at the event field driving his Volvo P1800 car.
The Royal Rally began in 1997 in connection with the 50th birthday of King Carl Gustaf. The competition was held in central Öland, starting in Borgholm. The King participated in the rally this time with his first car – a Volvo P1800.

حذفI love seeing these two out and about. This looks like fun & Silvia's outfit is adorable. I think a skirt would've rounded off the feminine hat even more nicely, but that's just a minor quibble. The colour suits her really well. And the King looks fantastic, too. Love the vintage vibe!

The Queens hat is so wonderfully ridiculous looking and the kings suite is priceless. I am sure one can find all sorts of things in the attic of the royal castle, not only priceless antiques.

حذفCommenters should realise that this was a classic car rallye, and many participants appeared in period costume for that. It's meant to be a fun event, and sometimes silly clothing might be involved, yes. I applaud QS for showing up in that flowery headpiece.
