Love Infanta Sofia’s pink dress. Perfect summer dress for a teen. Her sister’s dress as earlier in the week seems like a dress for a much older person. I actually could picture Queen Sofia wearing it rather than Queen Letizia. Queen L cool and classy as usual.

I agree with you. I was pondering how to comment on Leonor dress as I find it frumpy. She is still very young and it can't be easy to find a style to like that is also sober enough for all these official occasions. She has an excellent role model in her mother.

I don't think I could see Queen Sofia wearing it with the chest cut-out!

  2. Toujours aussi charmantes les deux soeurs ; Leonor porte une robe imprimée qui lui donne une allure plus mature contrastant avec celle de Sofia toute de rose vêtue !

HM Q Letizia looks fantastic. Though she could look good in almost anything, it’s this type of tailored clothing that seems to me to suit her best.

Not a fan of either of their dresses. Sofia's is too short, yes she has the height and long legs to pull it off but not on official outings more for a party. Leonor's just doesn't suit her shape it makes her look very big and frumpy. What is wrong with their mother that she can't give them better advice. Jj

It is not easy to be a royal teenager and dress for engagements. If they wear a short dress, people say it's too short for royal engagements. If they wear a midi dress like their older counterparts, people say it's too long for a young girl. There will probably be people complaining about the stomach cut-out, whereas others consider the very same dress too dowdy.

I completely agree with you. You forgot about the people, like @Jj above, who feel obligated to place blame on Letizia. Apparently, there is a belief that the girls are incapable of choosing their own clothes. Until fashion starts catering to "the young royal aged 13 to 19", all of the young ladies will be struggling to find the right outfits for official events. The transition out of girl's clothes to teenage styles can be difficult for many adults to accept. We have seen Louise go through her awkward stage, the Dutch princesses have struggled, and the younger princess will as well when they are teens. Leonor and Sofia are doing just fine with a difficult task. They don't need to be so harshly judged at such a young age. They are just starting to find their way.

When your daughters choose clothes it's important that they choose what they like and feel comfortable in, that doesn't mean as their mother that you can't make suggestions and offer some guidance. Both dresses are poor choices in my opinion. Lexy

I agree wholeheartedly with what you said. It must be difficult for young royal ladies/girls to find a balance. Knowing they’re being judged, much be hard for them!As long as they are comfortable and feel confident, they should go with that!

I don't like Leonor's dress. The waistline is at an odd place on Leonor, the very dominating pattern does not really fit together with the complicated structure of the top, the sleeves are blown up - a lot is going on in a confusing way. I don't quite see that this dress would look better on an older woman. The problem is not age appropriateness but the outfit itself. An older wearer does not make a bad dress any better.

  7. Q. Letizia looks fabulous, lovely clear and simple lines. Very elegant. She looks splendid. Sofia's dress is a very pretty color, but I feel it is a little too short. Leonor, the dress is a fail I don't like this at all. The hem ruffle, I dislike, and I don't like the bodice at all. I'm not sure if its the gathering in the skirt but the overall look is one of bulk.

As always, respect for your opinion. Leonor's outfit could not have been sanctioned by her mother. Too much fabric and the too large repeat of the print, dominate the picture on what is her sister's big day. Sofia's skater dress is a tad too short but she exudes a teenage freshness (looks like a young Jessica Biel) that is good to see.
RL wearing white on an important day sticks to her minimalist styling of clean lines and hits just the right note.

That's the problem with this royal family lately : or the dresses of the princesses are too short or they are too long. A long dress can be made shorter but a short dress like Sofia's cannot be made longer. I prefer the cut and shape of Sofia's dress but a bit longer. She is young but not a child any more. I have always the impression that her dresses and shoes are kept childish. Leonor's dress is too long and the sleeves make her look wider than she is. The look of her dress is too old for her anyway. QLetizia's dress is beautiful but the pencil skirt is a bit too long. Rose

  10. Q. Letizia is wearing what she wears best, the sleek, chic, simply cut dress. So gorgeous on her. I. Sofia is very cute in her pink "barbie" dress but P. Leonor needs to give that dress to charity and wear something simple like her mother and sister.

Queen Letizia looks splendid, the princess and infanta are still learning, I don't love either outfit but don't think that is a mistake, they need to learn not only see a dress but wear a dress and feel, the fabric, the movement, the shape. Let's remember that it took some time before Letizia got to her flawless style, so let's give these girls some time.
In general is a good looking family and I really enjoy seeing them all together

Letizia looks fabulous--great simple dress with very clean lines. Love Sofia's Barbie pink mini dress. She looks so pretty. Hopefully she will begin to stand straight and square her shoulders but I understand embracing your height can be a challenge for a teenaged girl. Leonor's dress is very pretty--love the choice of green espadrilles too.

Queen Letizia is impeccable as always. She is best at exquisite tailoring. The young ladies are starting to find their styles. I don't mind either look, they fit both of them. Sofia looks to be emulating her mother a bit more, as Leonor probably wants to find a style a little bit her own. Now is the time for her to do just that. Her dress is not too old, too frumpy, unacceptable for a royal. Some may not like it and that's fine. But it's perfectly suitable for this occasion.

Pss Leonore looked nice, but the pattern of the dress are IMO to big and I believe it makes her look older than she really is. Sofias dress is simple but very nice, the color is just right, but a little bit too short. Q Letizia's look is stunning. Maybe the Pss's don't won't to upstage their mother in matter fashion. css

The problem with Leonor’s dress is that it’s a cheap fabric badly tailored. Pattern is too big and without any consideration given to the cut of the dress. No one can look good in that dress.

Infanta Sophia’s dress is a better cut, if a little too short (there’s mini dresses and then there’s micro lengths; a few inches longer and it would have been just fine.

  16. Beautiful pictures! I love the one of Infanta Sofia with her happy smile among her fellow students. I for one don't think her dress is too short. It resembles the 60s mini dresses and it's got to be that way. Letitzia looks good in her clean cut white dress. And I like it that she paired it with sling pumps instead of her typical high heels. King Felipe is for sure one of the best dressed male royals. But this time his jacket doesn't fit properly, at least in the last picture. And for Pss Leonores dress everything is already said. It does not do her favour, too much fabric, too big pattern and for whatever reason the waistband sits too high, which adds to a frumpy look. I am also not a fan of these recent chest cut-outs. They make an otherwise nice summerdress look like beachware.
