King Charles and Queen Camilla hosted a reception at Windsor Castle in honour of King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium. On June 8, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde visited London to celebrate the establishment of The Royal Hospital Chelsea. The celebration event has taken place almost every year since the hospital opened in 1692 and is more commonly known as Founder's Day.
NATAN Gabin Printed Pleated Twill Dress
This is a beautiful dress, but since the pleating makes whoever is wearing it look broader, it may not be suitable to all body types. I love the cherry pink colour and this colour suits Mathilde very well. I think I prefer it with the Natan belt than without. The outfit looks more 'finished'.

@GM. Queen Mathilde is a woman who has children but has very much fashion sense and/or fashion interest. She is not only wearing Natan but a lot of big brands in fashion land : f.ex. Armani, Dior, Giambatista Valli, Bernard De Poorter, Jan Taminiau, Delvaux, and many more
حذفQueen Mathilde is wearing one of her older dresses here. I still like it. The pattern is a combination of red and fuchsia two colors which are still mixed in new fashion dresses. Therefore it is still on trend and can be worn with pink, red or beige shoes... Camilla's dress is very similar to the one she wore yesterday. Is she always going to wear blue dresses from now on ? She is much prettier in red or turquoise.
ردحذفCamilla is far to 'casually' dressed for the photo. Time she learned to stand straight, feet together, and look more lady like in official photographs. The tread on the shoes may be practical on an outing, but not inside a building, nor for official photos. Jane
ردحذفI think if Q. Camilla changed her shoes to dark pumps the outfit would look just fine for the occasion. Q. Mathilde is also wearing a day dress. (V.M.)

حذفLovely look for Mathilde--this color combination is so flattering to her. Would prefer a thin belt over the big one she has chosen as the thin belts are so much better for her figure. Nice photo of both couples together.

Isn't this the same hallway that was used when the Belgian King and Queen informally met the late Queen Elizabeth? I feel like Phillippe is much better prepared for this shot than he was the last time. :) This is a really pretty color on Mathilde, the dress on Camilla looks...comfortable. I suspect it's one of those dresses that looks a lot nicer in person and that the beautiful fabric doesn't translate well in photos. In these shots, it looks like it's kind of mail-order catalogue, and we know Camilla doesn't do that.

ردحذفQueen Mathilde looks beautifully groomed; this Nathan dress is lovely. The pleating in this instance works beautifully, love the addition of the belt. Her shoe color is gorgeous.
ردحذفJust curious. Why would the king and queen of Belgium travel to London to celebrate the founding of a 17th century English hospital? It was founded under William & Mary so I could understand why the Dutch king/queen might attend, but Belgium? Ed.

'His Majesty the King of the Belgians spoke how the British people are linked to the Belgians and explained how we supported his Nation, when the Nazi's tried to march through Belgium to invade France. He spoke about are respect for tradition and how we hold all that serve dear in our hearts, especially those at the Royal Hospital Chelsea.

@ Ed. If you know your history King Phillippe is a descendent of Leopold I of Sachsen-Coburg. Queen Victoria called him uncle Leopold of Laeken. His first wife was Charlotte princess of Wales who died after the birth of her first child. After that Leopold was offered the throne of a new state called Belgium and he accepted. And then we know the history of both World Wars when the English soldiers came to liberate us from Nazi Germany. There are graveyards in every town in Belgium were English soldiers even unknown are berried.

ردحذفIt is a pretty dress for Mathilde, except the broad belt (thinner would be better), and that huge buckle makes it a bit worse. I quite like how she wore it before. And yes, pleating makes everybody look broader, but in this specific case, she has allover pleating on her thin side, above the waist, so the whole appearance is quite well balanced I think. Camilla is her usual self, nothing out of the ordinary. With her osteoporosis, I am sure it is not always easy to choose shoes that allow her to move pain free and securely and have a steady standing position.

It is always Camilla this and Camilla that, but what about the king's suits ? This one is not in very good shape any more. If you look at the hemline of the jacket the fabric is curled towards the inside. The trousers are too large. Since he is king we rarely see him with what appears to be a new suit. So Camilla and Charles invest in a few new clothes for each of you.
