Love Mathildes red dress and hat!
Maxima….as M is: always a bit too much of something : too wide skirt, too wide hat.
Strange closing on the back of the jacket.
    Colour: nice.

Agree! Mathilde is tasteful and elegant in the red. Maxima is overdone with hat and skirt that are too big and wide.

    Wow...very nice to both ladies.
I really like the tailoring details of Maxima's suit - the two side pleats of her skirt, the beautiful, structured fit and shape of her jacket, the wide lapel and the wrap-around collar. This is a statement suit for me, and I can just imagine its power lookin other colours. I love her wide brimmed hat. It provides balance to the flared skirt without obscuring Maxima's smiling face, and her minimal jewellery is classic and perfect in all respects.
Mathilde looks good in red and her dress is beautiful, as is she. It's a dress that's good for formal daytime as well as evening. I think she could have chosen a better hat but we know that she likes these styles. Still, she looks good, and these two tall ladies have done sartorial justice to honour each other's presence.
    On with the state dinner.

Máxima in one colour, which is so chique and elegant. A really nice model as well, although the skirt could be less wide. The hat, though nice, is too big esp. when you arrive and have to give a hug to royal friends. Mathilde normally makes good choices but now she disappoints me. Of course it's a beautiful dress, but for a cocktail party and not a day visit

Looking good, hat may be a touch too big but it all works and looks elegant km

You can see this dress is a massive error.
Guessing why and which queen is mentioned.
Not hard to see: de squashing front of the red one.
When I had to pull the buttons that hard I would reject the dress.
No way this is looking good in the papers:) and I'll pray nobody will be sacked. haha.
Maxima is doing a Dior..and I love her for doing It and get's maximum of ten points. Or maybe also a bit to tight at the back?
KP is doing allright and expresses his funny side with the necktie.

    1. In photo 10 showing the backs of the two Queens, unfortunately three buttons on QMathilde's dress have popped open. The bodice of the dress is way too tight. DIQ

Wow, Queen Maxima looks wonderful. So polished. Love the neutral color on her dress. I like the bottom of Queen Mathilde's dress, but not the sheer red at the top. However, her hat is lovely.

Maxima looks spectacular! Mathilde’s dress looks boring to me and mother of the bride look that has been around for years. I’m also not a fan of the top of the dress. MR

Both ladies look very good to me. I prefer the slimmer silhouette of Q. Mathilde’s dress, and the overall proportions of her hat and dress are very pleasing. Q. Max’s outfit with its large stiff skirt and detailed calls for a smaller hat I think. Her jewelry though is gorgeous. (V.M.)

Maxima, hate way too large, plus the skirt has too much volume/material. It gives the impression of just 'too much wideness'. Queen Mathilde looks lovely, however, my opinion is that this type of dress is more of an evening occasion garment, not a day occasion dress. The deep rich colour of her hat was especially lovely.

  12. Superbe le look de Mathilde qui convient à merveille à sa silhouette ; quant à la tenue de Maxima, son tissu paraît trop rigide ; avec plus de fluidité jusque dans sa capeline trop grande, elle aurait été encore plus élégante !

Mathilde--fabulous in a great color for her! Beautiful dress but the photo showing the rear of the dress shows something odd with the buttons--style error, fit error, whatever but the buttons are not aligned. Maxima--the top part of her outfit is beautiful and fits so well. The skirt is too wide--remove some of the extra fabric from what appears to some sort of panels of fabric. The hat is also too big but Maxima loves her huge hats. She does look elegant and has shown restraint with her jewelry--her choices are simple and perfect. Cannot wait for the upcoming banquet!

J'adore les deux Souveraines avec leurs délicieux Gants de cuir beige. Et j'adore les voir serrer des mains en restant Gantées.

I’m disappointed in the choices. Queen Maxima styles is always OTT. The hat is big.The skirt element of the suit swamps her. There’s seems to be folds upon folds of unnecessary material. She’s lost in it all!
Queen Mathilde looks lovely in red, although Photo 10 is not the most flattering. It looks like the back of the dress as come away from its seam.
Looking forward to seeing what the ladies wear tonight. Staying true to their respective country’s designs. Natan for Q Mathilde
    Jan Taminiau for Q Maxima.

This is diplomatic dressing. Queen Maxima style Dior 1950. The skirt is too wide too my taste. The outfit is by the Belgian brand Naran. I like the light beige color.
Queen Mathilde. The skirt is too long. The body of the dress is so tight that the buttons in the back couldn't hold it. The outfit is by the Dutch designer Claes Iversen. The hat by the Belgian Fabienne Delvigne. The red is a good color for Queen Mathilde but she has worn about the same style of dress and the same color several times during one of the last winter and/or fall season too. I know all the colors can be worn in all seasons lately. This time I'm a bit disappointed in Queen Mathilde's choice. She has so many dresses and ensembles that are looking and fitting so much better.

  18. The Royal ladies, both looks fabulous in their ensembles. Queen Maxima is my favourite here. Love this outfit. Her accessories are a good color, all blending well. The pearl necklace is a wonderful addition, adding elegance. Her diamond and pearl brooch is beautiful, love her earrings.

Both Queens are stunning. Maxima looks great with her hair up and she also looks great with big hats. This must be a fun visit for both families.. css
