Today, on May 17, Norway is celebrating its Constitution Day. The Crown Prince family's celebration started at their home, Skaugum Estate in Asker. Crown Prince Haakon, Crown Princess Mette-Marit and Prince Sverre Magnus welcomed the traditional children's parade.
Thereafter, in Oslo, King Harald, Queen Sonja, Crown Prince Haakon, Crown Princess Mette-Marit and Prince Sverre Magnus greeted the children's parade and the crowd from the balcony of the Royal Palace.
The very first celebration of May 17 is thought to have taken place in Trondheim in 1815, one year after Norway's Consitution was created and adopted by the national assembly at Eidsvoll. In 1836, the Storting (Norwegian Parliament) celebrated Constitution Day on May 17 for the first time and this is considered to be the date on which May 17 became officially Constitution Day of Norway.

Princess Ingrid will finish her basic education this year and she is therefore “a Russ”. Russ celebrations are an important part of norwegian youth culture. The Russ Celebrations begin at the end of April and end on May the 17. They are dressed up in special red Russ clothes and take part of the procession. So my guess is that princess Ingrid is with her friends in the procession, which her parents and grandparents are waving to.

The Crown Prince couple look marvelous in their traditional dress! I really love seeing Mette-Marit in her bunad--she always looks marvelous. Sverre Magnus has become such a handsome young man--and looks just like his mother (at least to me). I love how the CP couple include their beautiful dog on such occasions too. How wonderful to see the King well enough to attend! Queen Sonja is lovely as always.

ردحذفUnmöglich das die künftige Kronprinzessin Alexandra nicht am National Feiertag dabei ist. Sie wird doch wohl einen Tag von der Schule frei bekommen. Sverre Magnus hat eine viel zu enges Jacket an , sieht sehr unvorteilhaft aus. Ist das Geld am Hofe so knapp. Kein schöner Auftritt
ردحذفEs wurde nun oben bereits einige Male erklärt, aus welchen Gründen Prinzessin Ingrid-Alexandra nicht auf dem Balkon mit dabei war. Sie nahm an der Parade mit ihrer Schulabschlussklasse teil, man nennt diese wohl "Russ". https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russfeier. Und aus einem etwas knapp sitzenden Jackett zu schließen, dass am norwegischen Hof das Geld fehlt, grenzt schon fast an Unverschämtheit. Anonym noch dazu gepostet, sehr feige.
