On May 8, the Prince and Princess of Wales and their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis visited the 3rd Upton Scouts Hut in Slough, west of London and they joined volunteers. The family helped volunteers in resetting a path, digging a new soakaway, sanding and revarnishing the front door, among other works.
The 3rd Upton Scouts Hut was built in 1982 and is being used by various community groups living in the region, which include the local mosque, a senior citizens contact group for members of the Asian community and members of the Scout group there.

It is wonderful that William and Catherine are teaching their kids the value and satisfaction of service to others. I love the last picture which features the Wales family surrounded by a sea of smiling faces.
ردحذفThat looks like a fun family outing and appropriate way to get young ones serving! It was a challenge for me when we had young kids but we found there are many opportunities out there but it takes a bit more discretion to find. Kids are often eager to serve so glad to see them setting a good example.

Totally agree with your comments, the best thing to teach your children is ' it's not just about them and to help others'. On their birthdays our children happily chose some of their gifts to donate to others. They are grown now with families, and have continued this with the grandkids. Jj

ردحذفWhat a weekend the British Royal Family had! I was at the Mall at 6 am at the Coronation Day and witnessed it all. Two meters from the fences, we could clearly see the Royal Family members pass by. And then the fly past right over our heads... wow.
Can't put to words how special and splendid it all was. Britain is lucky to have such a great Royal Family and such beautiful and uplifting traditions.

ردحذفI wonder if George and Charlotte (Louis is a bit too young) can be members of a Scouts group. It is useless to go once and a while with mam and dad for a visit to the Scouts activities. A real scout is going every week one afternoon to the Scouts group of his/her town. And during the school holidays on summer camp.
