It's a new fashion after many years of tight trousers. And before that time, I remember these loose pants dominated for quite a long time. I quite like them. And they are very "democratic" - no woman has to have a perfect figure to wear them and be attractive. (-Ann.)

I love wide trousers, both to wear and to see others wearing but these don’t look smart for some reason. I do, however, like Princess Caroline’s jacket. Charlotte’s dress is good but would be better without the frilled layer

I like Caroline's jacket but not the pants. I think that the textile is too stiff. Perhaps if it were a softer, more "flowy" material it would look and fit better.

Oh dear...Caroline's trousers are completely out of place with her jacket and, sadly, they are not at all flattering. In fact, they are swamping her with their volume. But I do love her earrings--they are beautiful. Charlotte looks good but her gown could do without the double peplums at least in my opinion.

Not keen on Carolines pant, but the jacket is nice. Charlette's outfit is something a kid use to dress up, not good. css

If this represents Chanel, I don't want any, LOL. Those trousers look like clown pants. And that dress looks like parts of different dresses were just sewn together.

  12. These wide pants are unfortunate, I understand its probably fashionable, but these particular pants don't look good at all. The jacket is quite nice. I can make out a brooch, but the jacket background is busy, and I cannot define what the brooch is. The Emerald earrings look pretty.
Charlotte's gown I don't like at all, especially the frilled layers. I say this the nicest way possible, Charlotte, doesn't look well-groomed here, not stylish or elegant. She is such a natural beauty.

"I say this the nicest way possible" Who cares how you say it?! Nobody is judging you! All that matters is you speak your mind! And in this case, you are only saying what practically everyone else is!!!
Caroline and her daughter both chose outfits that are NOT flattering to them or on them! That is the truth!
This was only a movie premire they attended, not a black tie event! Something more casual (simple) and colorful that compliments their figures and coloring would have been better suited for them.
If they have stylists (like Queen Elizabeth did) who are picking out their 'outfits' this was a FAIL! If they are choosing their own, it would behoove them to seek some professional advice in the royal fashion dept! They are both to beautiful to be wearing frumpy, unbecoming clothing! Just MY perspective! Thank you! Everly

  13. Princess Caroline and her daughter, Charlotte Casiraghi, almost never seem to come up with a “wow” vote from our learned panel of critics at NewMyRoyals.
They have some of the world’s top fashion designers at their feet.
I don’t think they’d have a financial problem if they employed a stylist, fashion adviser.
I’ve scratched my head but can’t come up with the answer 😓 ?????
    Anybody for the explaination?

I have to agree..neither of them, especially Caroline have looked great for a few years..Caroline never does anything to enhance her beauty anymore, her hair is always a mess and make up not well done..

I agree and the are so beautiful, with classic features, don't need to do much you will think, but rarely give us a wow.
Sometimes I wonder if it this is a choice, because looking at how strikingly beautiful Caroline was and what a rather unfortunate life she has had, maybe Charlotte tries to avoid being beautiful to focus on other things??

It is all about proportions: wide trousers are good with a short and tight jacket.
When Caroline’s jacket were shorter it would be a good combination.

She aged normally. She is 66 years. She still is a beautiful and elegant woman, moreover, she has enormous selfconfidence as she does not seem to mind to have grey hair or wrinkles. For someone always in the public eye that is quite an achievement.

Well I must say she is 10 years younger than I am and I have less wrinkles than she has. Having a very sensible skin since I was a child, I always have been told to look very well after my skin using the products the dermatologists recommended. I do dye my hair and are going every 3 weeks to the hairstylist and the coloring is done every 6 weeks. If I don't wish to color my hair any more I also will look older pretty soon. Now that I am getting old, I protect myself as much as possible against the sun. I stopped smoking when I was 50. I'm not drinking drinks containing alcohol simply because it is indigestive to me. I am convinced that smoking, drinking alcohol, having to much sun is very, very bad for the skin and for your health in general.

  16. I think Caroline's pants are made out of some sort of crisp silk which is the problem as it is stuffed under her jacket. The jacket is in itself actually quite nice a casual version of a Chanel. If she had a tight top, even a ong sleeved one would be ok, or a bustier tucked into the pants instead of the jacket, I think the pants would look very elegant.
Charlottes dress is a definate no for me..

For once, I like Charlotte's outfit. It might not be my personal taste, but it suits her and there's no weird fabric, cut or other detail involved. Nice! Caroline would've benefitted from a belt in order to give herself some shape.

Perhaps these outfits are given to them to wear, based on their size, as many models do. I like both outfits, but if the beautiful jacket was not so boxy, left open with a cami, it would look balanced.

Why do some of you feel such anger? I cannot see why you are so harsh. Maybe their outfits aren’t to your liking. Say that and move on. No need for all these superfluous comments. When we say something that negative, we only hurt ourselves, that negative energy will stay around in us.

Back to fashion, I happen to think Charlotte’s dress has an interesting cut, she cuts a great figure in it.

Caroline’s pants are bewildering. The jacket I very much like.

Dear Rose, What a cruel remark regarding Princess Caroline. I don’t think her face looks “ravaged” at all. She looks completely NATURAL, like most of us, and does not seem to resort to facial intervention via botox etc., my respect. Cameras can be extremely harsh. In my opinion she looks unhappy and exhausted, which is oviously not the same. Why compare her to the Queen Consort? Princess Caroline is still beautiful in a different way. Look again.

@P. the original: I agree. Moreover, all these women stating that they are older than Caroline yet look younger…… in their own eyes that is. A quick look in the high streets of W. Europe only reveals that the majority of older women is overweight, dressed horribly and totally appearance indifferent in general.

      Dear @Virginia,
you' ve found the right person at the right time in the right context.
You see, one can be overcritical and yet show a respectful behavoiur when commenting on aging women.
I can see all of Caroline's wrinkles but I was thought since my tender years to just keep my own considerations to myself when talking to or about mature women.
It is also a question of behaving gracefully and Caroline surely is a lady in this respect.
Being a lady with exquisite manners in real life and possessing remarkable relational skills when interacting with people is far more valuable than the number of wrinkles in a woman's face and body.
Please, consider that I am not being overcritical myself even though I am a fan of beauty products, make- up, hairstyles, healthy nutrition, good shape and gyms .
I could be entitled more than others to bash Caroline due to my appealing aspect (that is what I really am, as most people say when looking at me) but I wiill never go that way .
It is a matter of class and self-esteem, which I feel is lacking in those women producing disturbing comments on this blog.
Therefore, if I do not say anything about Caroline's aging why should women as wrinkled as or more wrinkled than Caroline do?
Oh, last but not least...repeating hammering comments full of anger and ageism is a sign of old age itself due to old age amnesia and to deep- rooted negativity.

Reading this blog, sometimes I think the most tragic thing that can happen to a beautiful woman is not becoming ill. Not losing a child or a loved one. Not even dying early.

Her worst mistake/tragedy is simply to not remain young forever.
