The Princess of Wales is looking great, although a bit tired (which is normal this week I think). They must have a very stressful week. Maybe it's just the pictures but she is so, so thin, these pictures emphasize it a lot. But she looks very healthy and fit. I love the fact she's wearing the same heels Meghan has. Maybe a coincidence (probably not) but it's nice anyway.

I thought the same as you! Meghan’s shoes, and Kate looking particularly thin… if she’s healthy then that’s great, I think she’s a particularly slim build, but one always worries a bit.

I've been thinking...perhaps it's her husband who likes who to be so shockingly thin? It might explain things?

    3. Please stop speculations about her being "too thin".

Catherine looks stunning as ever, love the slingback shoes. But Sofie is a miss. The white band around her waist, the neckline of her dress.

    2. I think Sophie looks quite good. The dress has no "classic design" but suits her quite well.

Catherine is very elegant in this white dress and black piping, simply the perfect outfit for the occasion. I wish I could afford to buy these beautiful black shoes. The only negative comment I can make is that I find her too thin, just like Letizia and Rania, and please don't start giving nasty answers, it's just the truth. (I am not body shaming her).

Comments about someones body is always a kind of bodyshaming. To say "i am not body shaming" doesn't change it. Make comments about the clothing, if you like to.

Criticizing someone else’s body - which is exactly what you’re doing - is the definition of body shaming.

    3. Anonymous5/5/23 19:30

Catherine does look thin. It is not bodyshaming to say this, it is an observation, and it comes out of concern. To shame is to cause to feel degraded, to shun or to mock. The commenter here is not doing that. However it is a very good point that we would all do better here to not shame one another (including by not accusing each other of anything, including of body shaming) and to focus on fashion, not the humans. Many commenters on this blog write beautifully and look for what is good and are constructive in ideas around the clothes, but a certain subset is very negative (comments like “that dress? Just no” and “She looks terrible”) and we should have the basic rule: if the person we are writing about read this, would they be upset? - if yes, we write something kinder or choose not to write at all. - AnnaLise

Donot understand the concept of “ bodyshaming”: when to your taste someone is too thin or too thick , that is your opinion and nothing else. Anybody can see for themselves and is free to be of different opinion.
It need not be a judgement.
      Why call it “bodyshaming”?

I usually refrain from posting comments about Kate’s clothing due to her unnaturally thin body. But…since everyone is pointing out the obvious.
She’s not a healthy weight for her height and body frame. She is sooo much taller than her sister and mother whose weight fits their more petite body frames.
Kate is also taller than Leticia and Rania who are also thin but look more healthy. She is more around the height of Maxima and Amalia.
Diana didn’t fit her thin look either. Victoria had an eating disorder in the past, I’m glad she has recovered. I hope Kates thin appearance is not due to vanity or a medical issue.

Anonymous 16:38, I don’t think you are body shaming. Catherine looks beautiful but expressing concern over her extreme thinness is not unreasonable. I remember when Diana lost a huge amount of weight after she married Charles—and looked beautiful. But, as we found out later, she was far from healthy, and struggled terribly with anorexia and bulimia—as did Victoria of Sweden. I don’t know any of these women personally and never will, but I can’t “not see” what I see.

    7. So your opinion is universal truth, if I got it right.

I disagree. If a person is too thin, then they are too thin. If a person is too fat, then they are too fat. If a person is right in the middle, then they are right in the middle. It is what it is! It's not "shaming" to describe what something (or someone) actually is. We are also all allowed to our opinions. If you're going to criticize the people who are of the opinion that she looks too thin, then you need to criticize the people who are of the opinion that she looks just right – or the people who might feel she’s too heavy. That knife cuts more than one way. The person making the original post is of the opinion that she is very thin - which from a BMI point of view she is for her height and body structure. (William also looks a little thin to me but that’s for another post.) As far as I know none of us have access to Catherine’s medical records. She might very well be too thin. Is it still body shaming if a medical doctor or nutritionist also points it out? I think not. (And I am a healthcare professional by the way.)

This blog is supposedly about the fashions but the truth of the matter is, fashion is also dictated by the body of the person wearing it. I know we strive here to be polit, respectful, and kind – and that’s a good thing – but the shape, the weight, and other dimensions of the body are all factors of the overall look. We are human beings and whether we like it or not, whether we strive to do better or not, we have sight and are programmed to look and critique for purposes of survival if nothing else. That cannot simply be turned on or off because it is the politically correct thing of the moment. We cannot read minds but if we could, I’d be willing to wager the majority here are saying one thing and thinking something else but dare not say it because of the accusation of “shaming” when they are simply pointing out what they see.

Saying that someone is ‘too thin’ is giving a judgment - whether you believe it’s true or not and whatever “concern” it comes from - and that simply is the definition of body shaming. Some of you are body shaming. And that is hurtful. You are potentially hurting people, with your words. And it affects your karma.

I can’t say that Catherine is not well dressed, because she is. The white dress is perfectly appropriate and the heels are great. But like a poster said above, she is very thin and it actually made me wince. I remember photos of her when she was dating William and even around the time of her wedding and the difference is marked. I wish her well this week and will assume she’s healthy. The pressure to be thin when constantly photographed in the public eye must be immense.

Catherine has worn these shoes before, its not something new or to copy anyone else. They fit her outfit of the day. She is beautiful beyond words, and aging gracefully, along with fulfilling a life with three children and constant public appearances.

I do agree about Catherine looking very thin. The camera usually add up to 5 kg on your body. And if you still look to thin on a photo, well, then you are to thin. But she still radiates a warmth and a lovely glow. She is really an asset to the Royal Family.

Kate has a body very similar to most models, but she hasn't found the clothes that best fit her body type. Tight, long, monochromatic lines make her look stick-like. And a bit too long hair emphasizes it even more. She could do so much better. Her shoes are beautiful.

Sophie has the same problem. She also hasn't learned to recognize the style of clothing that suits her best. -Siri

Catherine is very sporty, and is natural thin. She looks healthy and elegant. We are allowed to have an opinion on clothes, style, manner - but about person`s body - is hurting either you are thin, middle or fat. You can say that you just is concidered about a person`health when she is thin, but you do not say something about the health for the fat persons. You can not compare a 19 year old girl`s body with a woman`s of 40 year.
