On April 17, 2023, Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa held a reception at Grand Ducal Palace in Luxembourg. Members of diplomatic missions in Luxembourg and representatives of international organizations attended the reception. Hereditary Grand Duke Guillaume was also present at the reception.
Alexander McQueen logo-print single-breasted blazer
Oh no. I am struggling to see what is flattering about the outfit on Maria Theresa. Personally, I don't like the McQueen blazer but I don't think this blazer is going to look good on pretty much anyone. Again, the choice of a wide belt with a ginorous buckle is so wrong for her shape. Finally, the wide-leg trousers are a total miss. One thing I will say is that it appears MT wearing clothing that is fitted to her small atature--maybe tailored or purchased through a petite line so that the blazer is not ill-fitting or too large and the trousers are the right length.

The points you are making, are quite understandable. MT isn't tall, so wide-legged pants can be a problem, she often wears broad belts with huge buckles etc. Nevertheless I think, she looks good on these photos.

No to the GD outfit. Belt far too wide; Print on just sleeves not a good look, nor is the low cut top, and the too wide of a pant leg.

The jacket is definitely unusual but I like this outfit and think the GD looks great. She stands out well among the suits without being over the top!
DeleteJe n'arrive pas à trouver de l'élégance à cette tenue qui n'avantage pas du tout la Grande-Duchesse avec les épaules trop carrées, son pantalon trop large et cerise sur le gâteau, la large ceinture qui casse trop sa morphologie ; de plus, le chemisier de couleur blanche unie aurait été plus chic ! Ses cheveux courts méchés sont toujours au top !
ReplyDeleteIn the close-up photos her hair, jacket, and belt look like she’s going to perform at a rock concert. And yet, I love how chic her outfit looks in the group photos. How did she do that? HPGuillaume looks wonderful.
ReplyDeleteShe seems not to understand that the brand Alexander McQueen is good on thin and tall women and not adapted for her morphology. The broad shoulders and the print on the sleeves makes it worse. The big belt has to go, it makes her shorter. The pants are too wide for her. She should have made some classic clothes with a good cut by a good tailor.

The belt, O.K. by me. If it was in another colour, perhaps not.

ReplyDeleteWhat is the obsession with belting everything, especially with wide belts? She needs to elongate her body as much as possible, not cut it in half with a belt. Omitting the belt and buttoning the blazer would have looked much better. Best yet would to wear a solid color blazer.
