The cape is not an easy choice but Princess Alexandra's outfit is really elegant. Princess Stephanie is beautiful in blue and her clutch is eye-catching. Hope we'll be treated to great photos next week !

    1. Agree @anon17:34. A modern bride.
II think her outfit fits her personality. Stylish and in good taste.
O.K., from a technical point of view there may be things to discuss.
I read on another site that the colour of her outfit is ecru.
The Princess is a great academic as is her husband.
The Princess speaks 6 languages and has an impressive CV in the academic world.
      She is not a fashionista.
My best wishes for a long and happy marriage.

Anon 15.59 - she doesn't just have a degree, she has several including one at Masters Level. So more impressive than many people, added to her extremely impressive linguistic skills. Does she work? Yes, she represents her family when required too and has volunteered and done internships. So while she isn't part of the 9 - 5 rat race she isn't lounging on a couch eating grapes either.

The only thing that is working for me from this look is the bride's lovely hair. Otherwise her outfit is just too boxy for her and is making her look too wide. Her clothes had they been fitted to her shape would have made her a beautiful bride, Alas she has been let down by very wide pants and a jacket that simply does not work for her shape.

    1. I think if the pants were a flare leg (fitted on top and started to flare below the knee), it would have added the tailoring that you mention. The top should have been a fitted knit (ie - very fitted) so that it can contrast with the cape. She doesn't look bad, but if a stylist actually did this outfit, then the stylist needs to return to school on proportion / balance.

Unfortunately, I had the same thoughts about the bride’s outfit. Doing volume on top and bottom is not a silhouette that works on anyone, so I wish she would have done slim pants if she wanted to keep the big cape.

I don't know whether you call GD's outfit "lachsfarben" - it's rather pink or a very strong rose. I don't think either that MT's ensemble is well tailored - it's fussy (as another post stated), with tight trousers (upper part of the leg). Alexandra's outfit looks good, she is slim and taller than her mother and her cape fits very well.

    2. Anonymous23/4/23 14:53

Indeed, on some pictures it looks lachsfarben (a rather warm pink), on other hot pink. But anyway, who cares...

    3. Anonymous23/4/23 16:36

Actually, inside it seems to be a soft warm rose, outside more hot pink. Must be an interesting fabric, warm colours suit the grand duchess the best.

    P. Alexandra looked happy and good. So did her husband. Nice couple, radiant. Stéphanie's clutch is interesting, she is a very happy mother of two now. I didn't particularly like the yellow dress nor the GD's outfit - her trousers were too tight (upper part and bottom) - one could see that clearly in a short video clip of a Lux newspaper.

Alexandra looks genuinely happy. Her wedding outfit is all right from some angles. Stephanie looks very well just weeks postpartum and the vivid blue is pretty on her. Maria Theresa looks dreadful in an overdone, fussy, loud pink concoction that makes the worst of her shape.

  9. I like the white outfit a lot but it doesn´t look bridal enough for me.
The yellow dress on Claire is awful, both colour and design.
Maria-Teresa chose a good colour but an awful, unflattering shape and a somewhat silly design.
I like Stephanie´s blue number, and I applaud her for dressing up like that just weeks after having a baby. She looks good. Like her purse, too.
The brothers all need better suits.
The groom looks nice but you wouldn´t know he´s the groom.
Overall, a very underwhelming set of outfits, not worthy of a wedding, or a red carpet.

The bride looks so happy and her bouquet is divine. I don’t love any of the outfits but it’s a family joyful time together and fashion is thus irrelevant. European civil weddings are generally relaxed and intimate.

The bride has a really beautiful face.
I like her playful white extraordinary wedding suit!
Stephanies dress is of vibrant, good colour.
All the brothers ánd the groom wear illsuited costumes, too tight over their stomachs.

Call me old-fashioned but I do not think a pant suite is elegant enough on an occasion like this. So happy to see Hereditary Grand Duchess Stephanie in something other than baggy pants. She look great in her blue dress and heels.

  16. Splendid to see Pss Alexandra very happy. Her outfit looks nice but overall effect is rather boxy, capes Imo can be very difficult to wear successfully for anyone. Stephanie's clutch really lifts the overall look of her outfit, nice. Claire's dress looks lovely but something about the skirt part of her dress I don't like. Maria Thereas's outfit, looks very busy, the pants seem to be problematic, not a good fit, overall not a nice outfit.

How pretty Princess Alexandra looks today--glowing with love and happiness! Love the idea of Princess Alexandra's trouser suit--but don't like the cape. The photos without the cape show how beautiful the whole thing would be had the cape been constructed of a softer, more flowy material. I like color of GD Maria Teresa's outfit but not the outfit itself--the top is awful and the 2 toned trousers are not much better. Very disappointed in Princess Claire's choice--looks more like a summer party dress than something for a spring wedding. Princess Stephanie deserves an award for getting so beautifully dressed to be out at a major event only weeks after the birth of her little prince. She looks lovely and wins my award for best dressed guest.

What a lovely couple. I must say Nicolas looks very handsome with his gray hair. Pss Alexandra's suit is very nice, but I am not a fan of the vest, she seems to have a little struggle with it the other RL look lovely. Hope we will get pics from the church wedding! 21. You can see pure joy on Alexandra's face and it's really inspirational to see her. I like her outfit very much but for a weding it seems like something is missing. Some touch of more festive, sophisticated look. But she obvious likes it that way.

I think the bride looks lovely and elegant not boxy at all. It is a good outfit for a civil marriage. It is the custom in Europe when the civil wedding ceremony takes place a week or so before the religious ceremony that the clothes of bride and groom as well as all the guests are not formal but simple civil outfits. The real wedding dress will be seen next week when the religious part of the wedding ceremony takes place.
I didn't like the outfits of any of the female guests.

    Auguri a tutti!

  24. In the minority I really love the brides cape and top. I do agree though that the pants should have been fitted at the hips and only flared out at the knee.
I think in a lot of comments about "not suited for a wedding" that those persons are forgetting this is not the most important part of the proceedings as far as the celebrations are concerned but only the legal requirement by law that one marries before the law in some countries and that, before the religious part. The "real wedding" for all the pomp and dressing up is still to come on the 29th.in church with all the trimmings.
I repeat what I submitted years ago. All designers at Nathan and those disastress seamstresses who they employ, who have not a clue about how to sew or fit, should be banished to a desert island for at least 10 years untill those royal ladies who wear their clothes have forgotten their existance.

I do not completely agree with you comments on Natan. Queen Maxima as well as Queen Mathilde have beautiful dresses, coates etc... by this designer. It is true that sometimes they choose dresses, trousers, .... etc..that do not suit them. But they are only humans and humans make mistakes. Queen Mathilde still wears dresses and coats that are made by Natan years ago and everyone (maybe not you) like her in these clothes. In other countries there are also designers whose clothes I wouldn't wear even for free. But that is my opinion. Other people on the contrary do like it, even if it is a disaster.

I think the tighter pants on the Grand Duchess make her legs look very stumpy, per haps if they were more flowy it would not make her legs look so very thick. Alexandra looks very pretty in white and she comes off as very confident and very comfortable with herself!

  26. I read on another site that Princess Alexandra has lost her title with her marriage.
She will now be known as Mrs Bagory de Nassau
Also that their children will have no titles.

    1. Anonymous23/4/23 16:27

Maybe that is what she wishes. Or as in many royal houses these days it is only the heir to the trone and his/her descendants who is/are keeping the title. Since she married a civilian and not a prince she becomes Mrs (the name of her husband followed by her own family name). In most West European countries women use the family name of their husband (except on official documents like f.ex. heritage, birth certificate, health & medical documents where her own family name is mentioned first and followed by "married to.... the name of her husband on....date of marriage....at .....place of marriage"

Most of the time you just have to follow the law of your country. Could be that some countries leave the choice to the couple, but this is not always like that.

  27. I also like the first bridal number of Priness Alexandra. She did well with it, over all. I am looking forward to the bigger event, the religious wedding, in a couple of days from now. GD Maria Teresa simply does not know how to dress for her body type. She almost always gets it wrong. Only her formal evening wear is doing slightly better. Princess Claire clearly has a lovely springtime look with her citron-y-yellow dress, but I don't care much about the too casual approach here. I'll forgive HGD Stephanie all shortcomings this time, there's nothing to criticise with her being post-partum only for a short while now. Let's wait and see for the second part of this wedding.

Has there ever been a happier bride than Princess Alexandra of Luxembourg? She is over the moon, and her attractive husband is very tactile with her which is good to see. Her hair is limp and stringy but I quibble. She is a beauty, and I can't wait to see her next Saturday in the South of France as a church bride.

Claire has put on obvious weight and that dress does her figure no favors, but her dimpled beautiful face saves it.

Stephanie gets two thumbs up for appearing three weeks postpartum. I don't have anything bad to say. I love her clutch purse.

I can't say anything nice about MT's outfit, so I won't. But she looks very happy!
