On April 21, 2023, it was the ELLE Gala at the Grand Hotel in Stockholm - Sweden's biggest fashion party. Prince Carl Philip and Princess Sofia of Sweden attended the Elle Fashion Awards ceremony (Elle Galan) held at Grand Hotel in Stockholm. Princess Sofia wore a new outfit by Lisa Yang. Lisa Yang is a scandinavian fashion brand based in Stockholm.
I like the simplicity of the design and the very femine silhouette, but it´s still a difficult dress to wear. The colour will make most people look pale, the knit fabric will stretch and bulge (as one moves and sits) and make most people look bigger than they are, and overall, the dress is to big on Sofia. As a result, it doesn´t sit right on her, the two seams overlap at her waist instead of exposing a bit of skin (which I assume was the idea), and the skirt drags on the ground.

oh yeah the green purse. Can't figure out what could be the purpose. She wears the dress quite well.

حذفGreat dress and accessories, lovely hairdo and make-up. Fantastic look, but she should've worn another bra. Don't know what went wrong but it looks odd in that area. But otherwise it's a perfect spring look.

حذفI agree. The skirt is smooth over her hips and appears to fit beautifully. But the top is bunched up funny under her arms and competes with the skirt waistband for room at her waist. I’m very surprised that this is the outfit the designer chose to dress her in. It is not showcasing the designers talents the way she hoped, I expect. PSofia is gorgeous. But she looks rather plain standing next to these other attendees.
حذفHave you seen her moving in this dress? Do have a look, ChristinZ's Twitter is showing it. It is a farce. I am sorry - but this is ridiculous (for a designer to design and for any woman to wear). The top is partly clinging, partly formless, the skirt too long, where top and skirt meet is just unfinished/unprofessional. OK for a 16-year old meeting up her friends in the city - but not for a princess (or anybody for that matter) visiting a gala. (-Ann.)
ردحذفOMG you are right! The way she has to slide her feet and simultaneously kick the skirt part in order not to trip over it... given this is at a fashion event it's hilarious and sad at the same time.
حذفLovely color, great hair and makeup, fun modern jewelry plus a beautiful princess! Sofia looks great here but the dress appears to be a bit too large--its too long and waist area is a bit bunched up. I think the green purse is meant to be a pop of color and I like it.

ردحذفThis color looks beautiful on her. Also, her hair and makeup are absolutely lovely. However, for the outfit itself, the waist area is strange. Either it isn't fitting right or something. It just isnt laying right. If it were smoothed out, with perhaps a small gap between the top and skirt, that would be perfect. Love the contrasting clutch!

Color is not good, washes out her lovely complexion. The green purse, definite NO and the entire dress/top is odd. NOT a good look on her. The hair is nice pulled up. The earrings are far too big and clunky for her.

I love the color contrast with the lilac dress and green purse, but the fit on the dress is terrible. She needs a stylist to help her find clothes that fit her correctly.

ردحذفWhy do their dressers not get this correct from young to old royals. The most important thing in dressing is the undergarments first and for most. Briefs that do not show marks and the correct bra. Then comes the posture and how they walk. Just look at Princess Mary and Queen Letizia.
Shame she is such an attractive woman.
A very nice and simple 2-piece outfit, like the color to the top seems not fitting to well. Maybe it would have been better as a gown one piece. But Sofia looks nice, and I like her updo. css

ردحذفIt‘s about colourtheory, when you look at the colour wheel, pink has the complementärfarbe green, lilac yellow. It brings interest to an outfit, as you can see. In this case, the effect is ruined by the fabric and fit of the dress.

Agree with the almost unanimous view that the dress is a great colour but terrible fit. I’m in the camp that likes the green clutch. An outfit with potential which didn’t really work

Sofia is a beautiful women. With her looks and sense of style I really thought that she can pull of any dress. But not even Sofia can make this one work!
