The awards were created in 2012 by Cinzia Sgambati, journalist and entrepreneur, who has always tried to maintain a balance among all her roles with the desire to recognize and distinguish women, from all over the world, who, in their personal or professional action, have carried out extraordinary achievements that affected their own life and that of others.

  1. Silver Sequin in Monaco this week. This is as bad as Charlotte Casiraghi's at the rose ball. Charlene looks fuller in this dress, she was much slender 2 weeks.

    1. I would frame it as similar but not quite as glamorous as Charlotte Casiraghi's dress although I like both.. I think Princess Charlene looks great here. There's more colour in her hair and her smile looks genuine. Nice to see the couple at this event.

Not a fan of the dress for myself, but HSH looks really beautiful in it. Her make-up is also beautiful. She seems to be in great spirits which is all that matters - happiness.

Why she ignores Rose Ball Almost most important society event in Monaco? Isn’t this her duty as princess and wife of the sovereign?

    1. The Rose ball was created by Grace Kelly so its Caroline's birth right to host it. Charlene steps aside respectfully to let Caroline have her spot light with her family.

    2. Since the Rose Ball commemorates Princess Grace and normally has a full rune out of Princess Caroline's family, I wonder why Princess Stephanie and her family don't attend.

I don't think the Rose ball is the most important social event in Monaco. However, another thing caught my attention. Why is this ball held during Lent? I am Catholic just like Prince Albert and Charlene. The period of fasting is 40 days before Easter, for Catholics it is a time when they should focus more on spirituality, prayer and the like. In my country there are no balls during Lent, not even church weddings. I am a little surprised that this Catholic tradition is not respected in Monaco.

None of us knows exactly what is going on in the monégasque family, but something just doesn’t feel right. Charlene is a beautiful woman, but it is rarely she shows signs of joy or happiness. Not even around her own children.

It cannot be easy for her to come into the Grimaldi clan. By most royal houses, Caroline should have been made the heir. But primogeniture rule doesn’t apply here. Whilst she always knew it’s going to be this way since Albert was born, it cannot be easy for her either.

Seems one way or another, all three of Grace Kelly’s kids had a serious share of tragedy and drama in their lives. I hope it stops at their generation.

Seems at least Caroline’s kids are quite happy at this stage. Charlotte’s trials and tribulations notwithstanding, they all seem to be in a good place in their lives at the moment.

Which I don’t think it can be said about Charlene. She has attended the Rose Ball before. Did she didn’t find it worth her while to join her family again this year?

  7. N'en déplaise à certaines, Charlène est très belle dans cette robe Akris qui sculpte à merveille sa silhouette ; avec son délicat maquillage et ses nouvelles boucles d'oreilles de quelle marque ? elle est adorable !

Charlene looks so beautiful here. Her makeup is perfect—dewy and fresh and enhances her features but does not exaggerate or make her look clownish (certain others could learn here). Her dress is a simple cut she favors and looks fine.

I think, Charlène looks young and radiant. (face). But I don't like the dress, it isn't flattering and makes her look less slim than usually.

Exactly my thoughts. Her face is so beautiful, the makeup is just perfect. And then the dress….I know that everybody just seems to love Akris for Charlene. I never did, and here it’s just so obviously wrong for her.

The earrings seem to be very heavy, must be uncomfortable. The dress a bit bulky, screams winter, not spring.

  12. Love the AKRIS gown.
But above all, so good to see her out and about and looking in good health again.
I’d love to have the address of the Princess’s makeup artist.
I wonder if he/she does home visits and accepts payments on an extended monthly basis.

This dress. Although the dress is not bad, it does not do her figure any good. It makes Ch. voluminous and a kind of straight

  14. I think this dress is ok for her. As far as I remember she never attends the Rose Ball event, which she leaves to her sister in law and her family. She is involved in another festive event (sorry I forgot its name). Nothing new in Monaco... For her look I agree with Tulipe33.

Charlene looks beautiful! While the gown isn't fitted as well as it should be, it is a beautiful gown and the color is perfect for Charlene. I really like the way her hair is looking now--less platinum is much better for her complexion. And those earrings are killer gorgeous!!!

    7. Her arms look fine to me. Do you say the same about Queen Letizia, several years older than Princess Charlene who has incredibly toned arms. We also see Queen Maxima and Queen Mathilde wearing sleeveless dresses as well as the Duchess of Edinburgh, a decade older than Princess Charlene

I understand your point. Sleeveless can be hard to wear. But I can assure you that some young women can look awful in sleeveless, and some not so young women can look great. Same as with miniskirts for ex. Anyway I think that Charlene looks beautiful. She has wide shoulders that’s all (maybe has something to do with her past as a swimmer….)

Princess Charlene not only stand out because of the beauty she highlights with being a Fairytale-Princess, but also because of the inner beauty she possess and the work ethic she has exhibited throughout her career as a olympic swimmer and as a Princess and especially as loving mother.

As Charlene is a wonderful princess, her career als an olympic swimmer was quite short, she swam only at the 2000 olympics, in 2008 she could not qualify.

I've often criticised that she uses barely any makeup, which doesn't work with the dramatic gowns she wears - but THIS is perfect. Love the styling! Not over the moon with the dress itself as it's a bit shapeless, but by far my favourite overall look of her lately!

She is gorgeous - but I feel so sad to see her face pre-surgeries and how much she has changed her face and body to achieve this. Just look back to her Olympic days, less perfect but full of joy … now a “perfected” face but at such a cost.

Honestly, this dress is not flattering, it has no form, not showing off her slender figure at all not something I would have dressed her in. Other than that, I like her hair and make up.

  26. So much criticism of the dress, her looks, etc. Why I wonder? I think she looks marvelous. She obviously picked the dress to wear because she likes it and I think it looks good on her. So glad she has put on weight since she lost so much while she was so very sick. She looks so healthy now which I am sure her husband, family and friends are very happy to see.
