The Earl and Countess of Wessex are making a 2-day official visit to the Cayman Islands. The Earl and Countess arrived at Owen Roberts International Airport in George Town and were welcomed by the Governor of the Cayman Islands Martyn Keith Roper. The Countess will formally open the 54th Cayman Islands Agricultural Show, which hasn’t been able to take place since the COVID pandemic, and visit a children’s camp at the YMCA.

ردحذفYou do realise that they are sent by 1. King Charles, 2. The Government/Foreign Office? King Charles is Head of State in the Cayman Islands. So, yes, he sends representatives to visit on certain occasions. The weather does not decide on these occasions, like the opening of an agricultural themed show/fair. It's scheduled long time in advance by officials on the island themselves and when the date has been set, the government then asks for royal representatives to come and attend.

ردحذفThe dress looks quite nice…a bit too long but that is C. Sophie’s style. I’m not sure I like the camel shoes and bag. Perhaps a nude coloured shoe would be better. .(V.M.)

I agree!! The color of the dress is beautiful. The length and fit are great. The purse and shoes are just the right complement.

The dress in and of itself is very beautiful, but I find it very strange that it would be worn for an arrival in a hot, sunny, Caribbean island. Goodness, there are lots of pretty, lighter-colored ensembles she could have worn, and saved this longer dress for an evening event.

They both look very nice. I love the cobalt blue on Sophie. She should carry a top handle back not a shoulder bag, would have been a lot more stylish.
ردحذفWhile the color of the dress is lovely, it is far too long and seems to be an evening event garment. The shoes and bag do not go well with the blue of the dress, perhaps and ivory color would have worked better.
