On the evening of the second day of their visit to Curacao, King Willem-Alexander, Queen Maxima and Crown Princess Amalia attended a dinner at the Cathedral of Thorns in Willemstad. The guests of the dinner were 21 residents who make a valuable contribution to their community. The King and Queen got married on February 2, 2002. The number of guests reflects the fact that this is the royal couple’s 21st wedding anniversary.

I like the dresses of both Q.Max and CP Amalia. A pity Q. Max wore a white bra under her Zimmerman dress. Dark beige or light brown would have been better. On a Dutch site I read that they will have 2 or 3 days free time during the weekend.

@-B It is hardly strange that undergarments are being evaluated on a site that discusses what people are wearing and how we feel about their outfits. Maxima's bra is too light in color, but it probably wouldn't have been a problem in daytime lighting. The photographer's lights made it noticeable. The bigger problem is the lack of support she is getting from a garment that is supposed to be supportive. The wrong undergarments can ruin the look of an otherwise lovely outfit.

I think Amalia looks really wonderful in this dress. The right model for this tall lady. More of this. But please different shoes without an ankle band. Love Maxima's dress as well, except for the colour which does not do anything for her.

ردحذفBut everything else is so wrong. The floaty fabric, tiers and ruffles make her look wide, especially those dangly bits on the side. Way to mess up anyone´s silhouette. The hem is wonky, the shorter lining is unfortunate. And the sandals are a bad choice, not only because of that ugly heel, but also because ankle straps aren´t but for lean legs. (Before anyone jumps at me: I look horrible in ankle strap sandals too - I´m not shaming anyone. I am merely recognizing that people have different bodies, and dressing well doesn´t mean you choose the best looking clothes, but the clothes that look best for your body.)
Odd colour choices for a purse on both ladies.
Anyway - I hope they enjoyed their wedding anniversary and had a nice dinner with the 21 hand-picked participants.

Maybe she, you know, LIKES the dress and the style? She clearly has a stylist at hand, judging from her hair and makeup, so there are professionals at hand to advise her. And maybe she just likes the dress and the heels, they are appropriate to the occasion, so what. They are allowed a little personal leeway in matters of dress. Not everybody can be a Princess of Wales with an impeccable figure, an impeccable taste (or advisors with an impeccable taste), and impeccable hair and face.

ردحذفC-A looks lovely in this floaty, youthful, summery dress. Wish she had chosen a different purse though, maybe the beaded multi-colored clutch from day 4, or the solid blue one from day 6, or any of the neutral straw bags we've already seen on this tour.

ردحذفCP Amalia is a beautiful young lady and this blue and white dress looks great, very pretty and feminine. Her shoes look lovely, but her green clutch, looks fabulous, clever addition. Queen Maxima looks stunning.
ردحذفComments have been particularly harsh for Amalia on this tour. She is at an awkward age, between girl and woman, and it can't be easy to know how to dress as a crown princess in an official capacity at that age. Any other girl her age on a trip with her parents would be in shorts and flip flops during the day, and a little sun dress for dinner. The other princesses that are around her age are struggling with the same thing. Nothing is quite right, only close. Amelia does not look completely comfortable in any of these pictures. Let's give her time to develop her own style, and sadly, get used to all the critics who think they can do better.

ردحذفNo to both dresses. While Amalia's shoes are more her age, the plasters on her heels (been there done that), should have been in a neutral color so as not to stand out.
ردحذفI think the young Princess looks lovely in her dress. However the ankle straps are a no for me. Only certain women can wear them, they stump your legs and thicken your ankle. Where are these stylist that get paid a lot of many for helping them look their best.
