Take a look at their Wikipedia entries - quite some eye openers. The Princess’ dad (one of the world’s very richest people, hence the enormous jewels on the bride) also married his first cousin. Most interesting, the Princess’ job is listed as polo player!

its more common in many non western cultures around the world. many tribes in Africa do this. Many reasons but one of them is to keep wealth within the family

You risk your family tree being a circle. My cousin is a surgeon in a famous specialist clinic and they treat an obscene amount of people from those countries with severe hereditary diseases. This is so avoidable.
Apart from that, I will never ever accept the “rule” for Muslim women to need to cover their head. Iranian woman show their opposition and risk their lives by showing their hair.

I could not agree with you more! I really wonder if there will EVER be a time when females/girls/women will not be second class citizens on this planet. Religion or not!

Very interesting. Both dresses are modest with their long sleeves and high necklines, but they certainly hug her curves. I don’t love the colour of either dress - the first looks to be a grey/white which reads a bit grubby on my screen, the second is a rather drab grey. Nevertheless the jewels are very striking, and she looks very happy. Can anyone see her bouquet clearly? Is it jewelled as well?
I wonder if the groom has some eye problems. He’s squinting severely in all of the photos. (V.M.)

No he is not squinting, you are being to critical on all counts. Maybe he does not have large eyes. Even if he has small eyes he has lots of millions so who cares. He looks very handsome!

I think his eyebrows being so thick, and the shaping of them, are contributing to the overall look of the eyes, not that there is anything wrong with them. I don't see the comment as being highly critical, just an obvious concern due to the nature of the generations of inbreeding. I don't know who's father he is, but the gentleman seen in the 9th and 12th pictures has something wrong with his legs. He looks a little knock kneed, which may or may not be a congenital issue. I think it is reasonable to question the health of this family due to its intermarriages. Don't forget about the Hapsburg jaw.

@ Anonymous 18/1 08.54 Maybe in Sweden, but I think in most western countries people are aware of the danger and don't take such risks. We are not living in the middle ages any more.

  14. Marrying a first cousin is allowed and, unless there are proven genetic defects in the family, it's not that dangerous. The problem is that in these families, consanguineous marriage is the usual practice that occurs over and over again (it is called endogamy). This exponentially increases the risk of transmission of genetic diseases. The example given by Anonymous 18/1/23 07:56 referring to the Spanish Habsburgs is extreme but gives a good idea. In this dynasty they married not only between cousins but also, horror, between uncle and nephew and the final result was their extinction precisely because of genetic defects.
