Today is January 20 and Queen Mathilde celebrates her 50th birthday. The Queen was born on January 20, 1973 in Uccle. She is the daughter of Count and Countess Patrick d'Udekem d'Acoz. Mathilde married Prince Philippe in 1999. They have four children, Crown Princess Elisabeth, Prince Gabriel, Prince Emmanuel and Princess Eleonore. On the occasion of the birthday, the Royal House released two new portraits of the Queen.

    The Queen looks fabulous especially in the first picture. I don’t like the sleeves on the second top. Elbow length and width makes the whole top shapeless. Ladyofthemanor

    These photos would have to be the nicest and most natural I have seen of the Queen. She looks beautiful in her attire, so elegant. Her hair and makeup look fabulous. Her sincerity and inner loveliness shines through. A wonderful Queen, wife and mother. She does such a great job as Queen, I admire her very much. Happy Birthday Queen Mathilde.
