On January 18, 2023, King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima held the traditional New Year reception for foreign diplomats and representatives of international organizations. Princess Beatrix, Princess Margriet and Prof. Pieter van Vollenhoven were present at the reception. The Dutch royals annually welcome their guests to the Royal Palace for their New Year's Reception. The reception took place at the Royal Palace in Amsterdam.
