Japan's Empress Masako turned 59 today. Masako Owada was born on December 9, 1963 in Minato. Masako became the empress of Japan in May 2019. On the occasion of the birthday, the Imperial Household Agency released new photos of Empress Masako. The photos were taken on December 5 at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo.
The Imperial Birthday Photos are the best. Empress Masako always looks elegant.

ReplyDeleteA very happy birthday to Empress Masako, with best wishes for her health. Looking at her outfits as an empress, I don't think she has (yet) a style of her own, as Empress Michiko had (the special cape-like cut of her jackets, with buttons on the side, or her tiny hats). This is something that probably takes years to develop.

Empress Masako looks lovely in this monochrome outfit. I love the cut of the jacket. Her double-stranded pearl necklace and the earrings are exquisite. I hope she has a very happy birthday followed by many many more. The emperor is very handsome too.

ReplyDeleteThe suit is elegant, of beautiful fabric, and in keeping with the way royal Japanese ladies dress. She had a difficult time for many years after her marriage. Fortunately, her husband was supportive. It is good to see her looking well now.
