She looks lovely and the lace fabric of her dress is very interesting. Ladyofthemanor

  2. Yes she looks lovely as a Japanese princess and much better than the Japanese style until fairly recently. However difficult to imagine women (in most age groups) would want to wear that sort of clothes in many parts of the world.

She looks lovely. Think many women in different age groups would chose a similar outfit for a formal occasion such as a wedding outfit. AnnieM

She looks lovely. Her necklace and earrings are very pretty. I like that she is breaking away slightly from the very, very conservative style that the Japanese royal family adheres to.

This is a very pretty dress (I like the lace hemline) and a flattering colour for P. Kako. I do wish she would stop clutching her handbag in front of her. It makes her look timid somehow, as if she’s hiding behind it. (V.M.)

I believe this is how the Japanese imperial ladies are taught to "pose" as a graceful, polite posture. Empress Masako also stands this way in most photos of her. S.M.

Princess Kako looks lovely, this is a very feminine dress with a soft jacket. I especially admire her speech, which I think is quite daring for a female Japanese royal. Very well done.

Ironic. Her hopes for everyone are what she will never have for herself as a member of the Imperial Family. I agree that it was very daring.

  8. Wow, she looks so pretty and feminine in this dress. The lace overlay (i think that's what it is) its well done, and suits the dress perfectly. I like the cut and style of the jacket, gorgeous color. The subtle pearl necklace is a delightful choice for this outfit, looks fabulous, pearl earrings, nice.

Princess Kako is lovely again--her dress is very pretty with gorgeous applique embroidery. I love how she paired the dress with a very feminine jacket instead of the standard blazer. I was also struck by the quote taken from her speech--I certainly hope Princess Kako can also follow her words to a happy and fulfilling life.

The Japanese royal ladies should stop dressing up like old ladies. Well, one can only hope.

    1. But why should we force our western fashion styles and culture upon them.?
