  1. I'm glad I had taken this afternoon off so I could watch both the procession and ceremony. It was enormously sad to see the coffin with the late queen leave her home, never to return.
I cried when the words 'God bless you and keep you' were spoken at Westminster.
Fashion wise, they all look good. I particularly love Meghan's hat and updo, as well her deep and final curtsy for the late queen.
Overall, it was very impressive and touching to watch both procedures. Leave it to the Brits to make it grand, beautiful and even splendid. Worthy to a Queen like our beloved Elizabeth.
I have a deep love for the UK, setting my first big steps there. It feels like home, sometimes even more than my own country, the Netherlands. And yet, home lost the most important and loved person of the family. She'll be deeply missed and I'm grateful for all she has done. Her legacy lives on in her family and country.
    God save the king!
(Sorry for my emotional post, had to write it down.)

@Rosalyn, I too especially noticed Meghan's deep curtsy and I was quite touched by it. Princess Anne has been the only other Royal lady I've known for deep curtsies, so I thought it Meghan's curtsy was both significant and special.
No need to apologise for your emotion. The Queen throughout her 70 year reign has come to mean many things to many people (positive and negative), and all are entitled to their feelings. Good on you for stating yours. May she rest in peace.

All the royal ladies look respectful and appropriately dressed. I would like to know the significance of the Princess of Wales’ striking brooch. The Duchess of Sussex is wearing pearl earrings given to her by the Queen. Her deep curtsy was lovely.

I think each female member of the royal family is probably wearing a piece (or pieces) of jewelry the Queen gifted them at some point in their lives; a pair of earrings, a necklace, a broach, and so on. I've seen other royal families do it at funerals/memorials like this and also at weddings and christenings as a way to remember and include a family member who has passed on. It's a very nice tradition/custom.

  3. O and please, don't start with negativity about Meghan. Today was not about her or what you dislike about her. Today was about the last journey of the late queen and all the people that loved her and lost her.

  4. This was such a moving ceremony. The two saddest photos for me today are of the granddaughters standing at the side of Westminster Hall, clearly distraught and the most moving image of the elderly and the very frail Duke of Kent, who has been such a support to his cousin, struggling to walk in the procession out of the Hall in his final act of homage.
I was able to go to Edinburgh on Monday and take part in the vigil there. I can't describe how fortunate it felt to be able to stand for a moment and silently thank Her Majesty for everything she did for Great Britain and beyond.

  5. The Royal ladies looked appropriately dressed, special mention to Queen Camilla's hat, she wears this style so well. Love her pearl choker, very elegant. Its not often we see the Princess of Wales wearing brooches, this is beautiful, gorgeous luscious pearls, divine.

Agree, except for Camilla's hat. Normally I like this model on her but now I feel it covers too much of her face

Interesting "side bar"; in the picture of of Harry and Megan bowing and curtsying to Queen you can see marking on the floor, "Q" and "K" with an "X" next to each. I'm assuming these were for Charles and Camilla so that they would know **exactly** where to stand.

All the ladies looked lovely! I loved Catherine’s hair, just beautiful!
I love that both Catherine and Meghan wore jewellery given to them by HMQ.
It was an emotional service. Monday will be even worse !
Sophie I think seems to have taking HMQ passing extremely bad ! She looks absolutely bereft!!

I also love the simplicity of the dresses and hats that the women wore. All a moderate length below the knee with simple lines and fantastic tailoring. This is not the time for a "stand out" or "statement" outfit with an OTT top hat. Very nice. Well done.

I think the real granddaughters of the Queen should be in the foreground - Zara and Princesses Beatrice, Eugenie and Louise. They deserve it more than other family members who have seen her a few times in their lives. I remember my grandmother's funeral - her daughters, sons and we - the grandchildren - were somehow naturally in the foreground - the other relatives discreetly took a step back.

      Dear Stephanie,
this is how it goes in all families, I think, but the British Royal Family - just like any other royal family- relies on a hierchical order, which is to be respected even on the saddest circumstances.
In all honesty, Harry's tears have touched me the most.

Perhaps most moving are the photographs of Lady Louise and her brother James. They were in the most frequent contact with their grandmother the Queen. Technically, they are still children (18 and 14 years old), but their behavior is always flawless and dignified. Louise grows up to be a beautiful woman. I love her golden hair.
Lady Louise is a princess by decree of George V, as she is the monarch's granddaughter through the male line. However, I appreciate that the Wessexes don't require using titles for their children and are modest about it. Real class. Daniela

You words remind me of when Lady Louise was born. It was a difficult birth and at one point both she and Sophie were in danger of loosing their lives. The Queen dropped everything and rushed to Sophie's side. She wasn't HM the Queen but a very concerned and worried mother-in-law and granny. It was especially touching since Sophie's own mom had passed away. The Queen "filled the spot," so speak, so touchingly.
