On September 21, 2022, Crown Princess Mary of Denmark attended the USA’s welcoming reception hosted by U.S. President Joseph Biden at American Museum of Natural History in New York City. The reception was held for heads of state and government in connection with the opening of the UN’s 77th General Assembly.

    A strange and strained photo of CPM. She normally looks impeccable so this is an oddity. Not my favourite outfit, not well fitted and the print a bit meh. Considering the US President was there I would have expected a more knockout outfit. The expression on her face is strange, I have never seen her look like this.

    A rare miss for the crown princess. Doesn't fit well but could have been acceptable without the ugly pattern. Ladyofthemanor

    I rather like the pattern but agree with Deadeggs that the photo has probably been taken before Princess Mary was ready. You are also unable to get a good view of the dress as she’s slightly squashed in the middle of the pic. AnnieM

    The dress is a bit underwhelming. But her face is not a happy one. Maybe someone has their hand on her back, and she don't like it? css

    I'm not sure about the dress CP Mary is wearing, the sample on the model looks lovely, especially the shoes.

    There was no ill will intended. Maybe someone stands behind her and let her know she is not standing on the marked spot for the pictures? so maybe Pss Mary was surprised? css

    Or maybe is just not a great picture, does every one you take is perfect? If I take 10 you will find some with eyes closed, others with a non intended smirk all within 30 seconds.
    Not everything has to have a convoluted explanation.
