Exactly one year after the floods, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde visited the city of Limbourg in the east of the province of Liège. There, they met with local authorities, shopkeepers, emergency services personnel and the affected population. In July 2021, 43 people died due to the floods that have affected Liege, Verviers, Spa, Namur and Limburg.
Afterwards, the King and Queen attended an official commemoration in Chênée (a sub-municipality of the province of Liège) held for the victims of the floods. After this ceremony, at which Prime Minister De Croo, Minister-President of Wallonia Di Rupo and the Mayor of Liège, Demeyer gave speeches, the King and Queen spoke with the relatives of the deceased.

ردحذفThe people who lost their houses do not have a new house and everything else they need in one year. The family members who died cannot be replaced, which is far more sad than all the rest. The insurance companies are always late when they have to pay something.

This is a lovely navy dress, I love the pleating, very attractive. I am a pearl girl and I think this strand of pearls is gorgeous, the pearl earrings are beautiful. The Navy accessories work in well.

I love this navy pleated dress on Queen Mathilde. Very appropriate. Never saw her with these pearls. They look indeed old fashioned. Probably a piece of jewelry that comes from an heritage.
