On June 14, 2022, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended a memorial service to mark the fifth anniversary of the Grenfell Tower fire. Ahead of the service, the Duke and Duchess met with survivors of the fire and those who lost loved ones. A total of 72 people were killed during the blaze in June 2017.

ردحذفObviously the dress is not the main point here but it IS a great dress for the Duchess. I think I preferred it with the dark belt and shoes.
ردحذفCatherine is very appropriately attired. Wearing white without much in the way of accessories including no hat is respectful and down to earth. The dress is lovely but if I had to have a quibble it would be too many buttons. I'd do away with the top two located below the lapel.

ردحذفWhite is also the colour of mourning. The Queen Mother’s mother died shortly before a state visit to France. Her planned wardrobe was completely changed to white. She took France by storm although that wasn’t the intention.

ردحذفI didn't like the dress the first time and I still don't like it. Those black buttons are not beautiful at all. The shoes don't match the dress either. She has other shoes that go so much better with a white dress. It is time she changes her dress style.
ردحذفAs mentioned above, the Duchess of Cambridge's dress is by designer Suzannah. It is all "London" and the woman behind the mark is Suzannah Crabb. Although she has done work for a lot of international clients, her success is connected to London. A comment of "slow fashion" is often used for her work. She has studied a lot about fabrics and has built up a network of quality manufacturers to work with. I like her work especially when she uses some of her flower prints.

Her dress has a 40's, post-war vibe. I think it is pretty but the double buttons on the bodice do not enhance the dress. A single row would be better, I think.

In my opinion the solemn nature of this visit would have received more weight if the duchess had worn her hair in a bun. I find myself concentrating too much on her looks, which is not intended, I would assume.
