On June 17, 2022, Queen Letizia attended the meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Residencia de Estudiantes in Madrid. The Queen is Honorary President of Student Residence Foundation. The Residencia de Estudiantes, literally the "Student Residence", is a center of Spanish cultural life in Madrid. The Residence was founded to provide accommodation for students along the lines of classic colleges at Bologna, Salamanca and Cambridge.

حذفClearly Board meetings in this case are quite casual in terms of attire compared with regular ones. What they queen wears would normally be considered utterly inappropriate for a Board meeting. But the other lady isn’t dressed any differently, so one must assume that’s what is expected.

I am surprised. Casual QL looks like she is going to the beach. If you look at the attire of all others, the men included, it is evident that all parties made an effort to look semi-formal so that the queen is not doing herself a favour.

حذفWell the comments started with the weather in Spain. When it is 40 ° C one easily forget to dress really formal. Besides everyone is dressed appropriately. Times that people when they are at work must be dressed formal are over. I complain the men in their (summer) suits. A woman can wear something light and still looks good.
