Princess Ingrid’s dress Is not suitable for a Queen in waiting, I wish She had worn the dress in the official portrait or something similar.

Best dressed is Queen Maxima (who would have thought) and followed by Victoria of Sweden

i agree that the colour of the old dress after MM suits the princess very well, but IMO the white dress was far more beautiful on her. Hope to se her again in that dress and then with a tiara. She is such a shining beauty!

  5. Beautiful royal gathering.
They all look stunning in their orders and tiaras. And wonderful to see the next generation of heirs included in this celebration.

I like Ingrid Alexandra´s gown. Beautiful saturated colour and interesting details without looking busy. The straps could be a bit more substantial (wider), but this is a great look and will be remembered. She wears her tiara beautifully.

Sonja´s dress is very yellow. But I like the style. Looks great in motion.
Mette-Marit´s pink gown is very pretty, and I like to see her in short sleeves and a not-so-high neckline.
Victoria´s my favourite of them all. Dreamy gown that works fantastically with the red Norwegian sash. Cute little purse as well.
Mary - not a bad dress but it´s not really white-tie material. The sash cuts through the embellishment at the waist, and I don´t like the beige purse with it either.
Disappointed by the Belgian ladies. Neither dress does them any favours. But it´s great to see Elisabeth in a tiara.
I think Amalia looks great in her dress. It´s a very dramatic dress for a teenager, but the sweet colour brings it down a notch, and she wears it really well. Lovely tiara as well.
    Maxima - wonderful.

What a feast for the eye. Too bad that Leonor from Spain didn´t join in with the heirs, she would have fitted right in with this generation of future queens. Estelle and Charles were also there.

Missing some pictures....off Estelle, she is definitly the 'winner' of tonight! Off course with Ingrid, she's a lovely young lady. Martha Louise looks very happy! Elisabeth: wonderfull! Victoria: great dress! Amalia..... no co-ordination of coulors with Maxima's dress and don't like the hair in the face. All ladies have an updo, except you. Overall: a very festive event!

    2. Why does Amalia need to coordinate with Maxima? She is not a child who needs follow a colour pallet. She is a young women who has her own identity. Also her hair is fine, its not in her face. Remember this is her first white tie and tiara event, she is not a seasoned professional yet!

Wow! Some highs and some lows. The most beautiful dress was the one of CP Victoria, by far, followed by the elegant Queen Maxima. Of course, the young princesses were all beautiful in their own styles.
The worst dresses, I my opinion, were Märtha Louises and Sonjas (who’s dress made me think of a Disney princess outfit..).

Finally a Tiara event again. These young Pss's really knock it out of the ballpark. Very beautiful young ladies, if this is what the future looks like we are in a good place.Loved Pss Ingeborg's Tiara,Pss Elisabeth's look like Pss Mrgareth of the UK, very very lovely, also the Holland Tiara is a win win.It seems Pss I A wore her mother's gowns, I think they looked better on her then on MM. Pss Elisabeth's gown was very nice, I just did not like the top the skirt part was great. I think the best dressed of the young heir's was the Pss of Orange. Pss Estelle looked so lovely and happy and so did her brother. The Picture of the 5 heirs looks splendid, little Prince Charles of Luxembourg sat there so brave, sadly some of them were missing. Maybe in the future will see them all together. The Europaen Monarchies are in good future hands.

I've been looking forward to this all day! What a stunning event. All of the future queens looked beautiful in their gowns and tiaras, including Princess Estelle. But, it was Princess Ingrid Alexandra's night to shine and shine she did! I loved her dress and her tiara. It is special that she is wearing a gown from her mother's wardrobe. The Norwegian family was overjoyed. CP Mette-Marit's mother is very beautiful, and her older son is quite handsome, as is Prince Magnus. Little Prince Charles was adorable, as always, as was Prince Oscar. I enjoyed all the comments above, and I can't add anything that hasn't already been said. Thank you all. (Debra)

    1. I agree that it was Ingrid Alexandra's night to shine !! She did so particularly through her lovely style and personality. However I don't think her gown had the right color for this occasion. The winner is indeed Estelle for me ! And regarding the mothers, Victoria was stunning indeed.
But I don't understand about the participants' list !! Missing is certainly Leonor from Spain (her father is not the right replacement in my view), exams at this time of the year ??. And if we had (very) little Charles (by the way his mother looked lovely), why not George from UK ?? Or rather a tradition that the British rarely show up on such occasions. I thought Albert & Charlene were to attend with children or only one, maybe wrong information.
My conclusion none in this select group of three over 18y had really an adequate dress but quite appropriate tiaras.

Mary all the royals and ex royals attending are close friends of the NRF. The brits, other houses, Christian and Lenore was invited. They obviously had other reasons to not attend like school and other engagements like we saw Charlene and Albert was on. By the way they are coming to Norway on Wednesday, and is having lunch with the NRF. As we saw Philipe didn't attend either. Neither the royals from Lichtenstein. As other says Felipe is not a stand in. Hi is a close friend and Ingrids godfather.

Yes it is a bit odd that no one from the BRF attended. King Harald is very close to Queen Elizabeth, both personally and by family connection. I'd be extremely surprised if they were not invited. William and Catherine would have been ideal to attend since they will likely be reigning monarchs at the same time when Ingrid Alexandra will be.
(I also thought that the Monagasques would have attended but they seem to have been at another event.)

I remember when King Baudouin died. The papers were writing that the presence at his funeral of Queen Elisabeth was extraordinary because she normally didn't went to funerals of other heads of state. I think they did receive an invitation for the birthday gala, why would they not, but that the BRF is only going to very important ceremonies outside the U.K. when they cannot stay away. For events remembering World Wars I & II for example they went to France and Belgium to take part at the ceremonies and visits to the war graves.

To me the best dressed are Queen Mathilde of Belgium and CP Elisabeth. They ar so elegant in their Armani dresses. The blue of QM's dress suits her ver well. The cut of this dress is impeccable. CP Elisabeth looks wonderful in this lilac dress. I like the skirt of her dress when she moves. The tiara is something special. We don't know yet where it comes from but I think it is not a new one. It could has something to do with her great-great grandmother former Queen Elisabeth, the wife of Albert I.
Queen Maxima, I like her dress better now than when she wore it in Japan.
CP Amalia : I'm afraid I don't like this dress style for her much too old. What will she wear in 10 years ? Her tiara is lovely.
CP Victoria : very beautiful and so are the children. P Estelle and P Oscar
CP Ingrid Alexandra : I prefer her white dress. This dress is too dark in this time of the year and for a 18 year old. Beautiful tiara. And her own natural beauty.
CP Mary : The dress is not bad but we are used to much more.
All the others where more or less well dressed but nothing extraordinary.

There has been some discussion about the guest list. May I explain something?
It seems the guests include mainly relatives and goodfathers and -mothers. All the Scandinavian royals are related which explains most. There are members of the former Greek royal house - related through Danish-born queen Anne-Marie. Elisabeth of Belgium, Guillaume and Charles of Luxembourg are great(-great-)grandchildren of princess Ingeborg (tiara!) just like Ingrid Alexandra. A longer link of relatives is to the Netherlands - a Swedish princess became a queen in the 19th century (I don't remember her name). King Feliipe of Spain is IA's godfather. Princess Leonor is not yet "in tiara age". There were also members of the former royal house of Bulgaria. The house is one of the branches of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha like prince Albert of UK. Relatives to almost all European royal houses.
As for the British: queen Maud of Norway (Harald's grandmother) was the daughter of king Edward VII. I'm pretty sure that the British got an invitation. But, it was the Ascot Week. Probably it was considered more important, specially because the Jubilee.

      For the young monarchs:
-Princess Ingrid Alexandra is wearing the Ingeborg's Boucheron Pearl Circle Tiara. (It must have been particularly special for King Harald to see his granddaughter wearing his grandmother’s tiara on this joyous day).
-Princess Catharina-Amalia is wearing the Dutch Star Tiara. (A sentimental piece! It was also her mother's wedding tiara).
-Princess Elisabeth is wearing a never-before-seen diamond floral tiara, it could be a new one she got during her 18th birthday celebrations and I simply call it 'Elisabeth's Tiara'.
-Princess Estelle is still too young for tiaras, but she wore a lovely headband that matches her dress (which kinda resembles the The Swedish Aquamarine Kokoshnik Tiara when looking from afar).

As tall as king Felipe ? She has heels on and a tiara. I think you must take a closer look to the picture where she walks on his arm. Look at the shoulders of both, she is not as tall as king Felipe. She is a very tall young lady but lucky not as tall as Felipe.
