Now this is summery elegance from our Belgian Queen! Earrings match the print on the dress, which is a lovely color and fits well. Hair (thankfully no hat) bag and shoes are perfect accessorizing. A colorful look for visiting this vibrant African country, without being overdone or unsuited to QM’s fashion “strengths” (for lack of a better word). S.M.

This is not the dress she was wearing upon arrival at Lubumbashi. QM and KPh came by plane of the Belgian Army, QM wore a cotton dress by Dries Van Noten. That dress was very wrinkled when she cam out of the plane. After that she put on this dress by Congolese designer Charlotte Kambeya. First they went to the Belgian private school, afterwards they visited the Univerity of Lubumbashi where KPh held a speech. I like this dress, the shoes (by Mango) the clutch, the earrings (by C. Herrera). Everything looks summery and really beautiful.

Another beautiful dress from Queen Mathilde! I love the colors of the dress and it looks marvelous on Mathilde. I'm sure the floaty nature of the dress is keeping her cool in the heat of the day too.

  4. Belles couleurs de l'imprimé de la robe mais je trouve que le haut de celle-ci ne l'avantage pas du tout pour cette visite dans un pays chaud ; jolies boucles d'oreilles que je vois en émail ?!

The dress is lovely, nice to see the King in a light colored suit. The shoes, walking around in them must be tiring in a grass/dirt type under footing. Wedges of some sort might have worked a great deal better. jj

Queen Mathilde is a too elegant lady to wear wedges with this kind of dress.

Another beautiful, bold print dress worn by Mathilde.
Thanks to Anon 16:06 above, it is wonderful to know that it is created by a Congolese designer. The dress looks wonderful on Mathilde and I like the little capelet, which seems to be only on the front of the dress. The fabric is bright and cheerful and goes well with Mathilde's sweet smile.

The whole look - hair, dress, earrings, shoes - is just beautiful on QM. ((V.M.)

  10. Think I may be in a minority of one! The dress is okay but not great but I'm struggling to say why I'm not a fan. I like the top and perhaps if the skirt was a little shorter I would have preferred it. Shoes, bag and hair are all perfect.
