On May 18, 2022, The Earl and Countess of Wessex, The Duchess of Cambridge and Princess Alexandra hosted the 2nd garden party of 2022, held at Buckingham Palace in London. Over the next few weeks, two more Garden Parties will be held on The Queen’s behalf, including one at The Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh. In summer, The Queen traditionally hosts three Garden Parties at Buckingham Palace, and one at the Palace of Holyroodhouse.

ردحذفDuchess Kate seems to have all these dresses and hats in every colour. I prefer these outfits for church services and memorials. Countess Sophie is wearing a dress more appropriate for picnics.

I beg to disagree. Sophie's outfit is much more historically garden party style than the duchess of Cambridge. I can't see anyone going on a picnick in a silk print dress with heels unless going in a carriage and horses with servants to serve you at picnick tables

I read Kate was filling in for HMTQ at the last minute. So pre-planning might have been hard. Also, she might have been working to avoid 'twinning' with Sophie (wearing something too alike).

ردحذفTime for tea. Great to see Pss Alexandra there too, she looks like always elegant. Love the coral dress on Dss Kate, she has a few of them, in different colors. Css Wessex looks so lovely to. Hoppe everyone enjoyed them self's. Hope we see other members of the family to.
ردحذفKate has similar coat dresses in other colors. She knows that this style works extremely well for her. Maybe a little formal for a garden party, but then the color is right for the occasion and she stands out as the regal future Queen she will one day become. Classically elegant.
ردحذفPrincess Alexandra for the win - in buckets! Her hat, her longer jacket, her dress and the overall charming colour. Lovely look for a lovely lady. The other two are are boringly predictable unfortunately.

Anon 21:47 and deadeggs, just scroll back, or look at the main page of New My Royals. There's photo's of Charles and Camilla at the National War Memorial, Canada, they don't mention the city, paying tribute to the fallen soldiers. I see deadeggs mention anon 9:13 also.
حذفI love the deep apricot worn by the Duchess of Cambridge but agree that it looks a little warm for the weather in London today. I like the Countess of Wessex's outfit--it's not as long as some of her recent outfits and all the smarter for that. Princess Alexandra is her usual elegant self.

Princess Alexandra looks fabulous! Her dress has a wonderful sheen to it, and her jacket and hat match the pink shade perfectly. Her pearl and diamond choker, earrings and brooch are divine. She never disappoints. Although she looks very pretty, I do wish that Catherine would give the coat dresses a rest. I love her shoes. I like the Countess's dress very much and it isn't too long. Her hat and clutch compliment the print of her dress. I hope the Queen is looking on via video link to Windsor.

I think most fans of Catherine agree that she looks great in this style, and is comfortable wearing similiar items in different colors. Truthfully, she looks great in everything! I never get bored with her fashion..just seeing her is a treat.

Princess Alexandra is the standout here, she looks outstanding, perfectly groomed, chic and stylish, she never fails to impress. Her outfit is beautiful. Her skirt is very pretty, but her pink jacket is divine, beautifully tailored. The addition of the scarf, add of panache. Her pearl multi strand choker and earrings are gorgeous choices. Love her brooch. She is the epitome of elegance.
ردحذفI wish Catherine would add a brooch every once in awhile. I assume she'll be inheriting some from the Queen someday. The coat dress, which is becoming her signature look, would look more interesting with a brooch.
ردحذفLove looks of the royal ladies at the garden party! Catherine looks wonderful in her coral coat dress and I love the pink shoes as a very chic touch. Sophie's dress is garden party perfect and the perfect length. But, for me, the winner for Best Dressed goes to the always elegant and timelessly classic Princess Alexandra! She looks so beautiful--and I love that hat. That photo of her beaming (#9) is fabulous!!!

Dans un style différent, joli look pour ces trois dames ; superbe Kate qui ne nous étonne pas en portant cette robe-manteau qui semble assez chaude ; la princesse Alexandra a toute ma préférence délicieusement vêtue de blanc et surtout de rose qui domine ; charmante Sophie dans cette légère robe fleurie qui donne l'impression d'avoir subi un très léger raccourci !

ردحذفThey all look so outdated. Catherine : this is not the kind of dress/coat to wear at a garden party. Love the shoes and clutch. Sophie : Lucky she wears a flower dress which is more appropriate for a garden party, but the hat should have been in that special blue and or brown/rose that is coming back in the pattern of her dress. Shoes and handbag are well chosen. The dress is too long as usual. Princess Alexandra : she is the one that is dressed the best here. Love her hat, lovely dress and jacket.
ردحذفThese Ascot-like garden parties are not of this era anymore. I am not against it but it could be organised in a different way. Why the women have to wear hats and for the rest rather modern clothes. The men apparently must still wear their old suits and hats as if they were run away from Ascot.
Are these garden parties connected with a good cause ? If not, it looks like an excellent opportunity to do so in the future, especially because of the bad times which might come.
The garden parties are an opportunity to bring the people of the United Kingdom together to meet the reigning monarch and some of their family. Some of the invitees are people who have done notable deeds and achievements in their local communities, but any citizen can obtain an invitation by writing to your local governing authority and asking to be put on the list. If you're lucky, you'll receive an invitation in the mail. There are about 3 summer garden parties at Buckingham palace and 1 in the country every year. About 8,000 are invited to each party. Lots of walking around to admire the gardens, lots of live brass band music, lots of pretty food to eat and drink. My aunt attended one and she enjoyed it.

Catherine looks out of place dressed. Other women have better garden party dresses and shoes. Especilly Catherine´s high heels are in group how to sow carrot.

حذفwhy pick on catherine's shoes? sophie's shoes are just as thin a heel as catherine. Well, some people cant find anything to be proud of. I would be proud of the 3 women tackling walking around and talking to all those people, and trying to balance in grass with any type of shoe other than a flat, or trainers. :)

I see some other people wearing heels (which is not any sort of sin one must be ashamed of!) and none of them is sinking in the grass,
There is nothing wrong with this outfit and the color is simply glorious. But i am beginning to have the feeling that this style is one of several fashion "uniforms" the DoC wears. It's pretty. She wears it well. That's all I got.
ردحذفAs pretty as it looks, how well tailored and fitted, to me the dress coat worn by the DoC feels too stiff for the occasion (and it's more of the same); short sleeves, different fabric, a corsage or brooch and the whole look would have gotten a more 'party look', whereas now to me it's too formal.
ردحذفThe CoW looks good, but again the dress could have been a bit shorter. Her handbag/clutch is beautiful and matches the dress excellent.
To me the best looking is PA today: such sophistication; an outfit well suited for many occasions.
