The Duchess of Cambridge has become Royal Patron of the Maternal Mental Health Alliance (MMHA) and has recorded a video marking Maternal Mental Health Awareness Week. MMHA is a UK-wide charity and network of over 100 organisations, dedicated to ensuring women and families affected by perinatal mental problems have access to high-quality comprehensive care and support.
Max Mara Studio Zaza crepe de chine dress
This dress does nothing for the DoC. It's a dress she can still wear when she's 30 years older. Maybe it's time to shorten her hair by about 6 inches (15 cm) because it's getting quite long.

Would you tell us what exactly it is that this dress does not do for Catherine? Or: What is it that the dress should do? Is it something older women don't need any more? I would love to know more. Because, you know, it sounds as if you simply dislike the dress, which is perfectly all right, but cannot tell what you dislike, so you dismiss it as something good enough for oldies - why? because they don't need that a dress does something for them? Very interesting view about women young and old. Just think about it. - For me, this is a nice little everyday dress, very proper for a video announcement. More would be less :-)) (-Ann.)
DeleteI always thought this is a blog for oldies no goldies hairdressers.
DeleteThe poor royals never get it rigth.

I agree with
MCS. Both in terms of dress and hair. And I
think most of'us' others understand the meaning and do not need your long over-interpretation and an answer 🤔? LL

DeleteI get quite the opposite impression that you are the one who dislike royals for what they are and what they have, no matter if they are young or old.
If you reckon this is not the place where you can meet youngsters well acquainted with the latest fashion trends , I suggest you give your" professional" advice on Vogue or apply for a job as a model yourself.

DeleteI don't understand your comment. I don't think you understand my message. Catherine looks beautiful. Her hair is her calling card. It's not a bazaar. I don't come here to argue.

The dress looks better on Dss Catherine than on the model imv.
ReplyDeleteMax Mara usually makes beautiful clothes, but this one I don't like. The little flowers (I cannot see very well what it is) are so outdated. A dress style my grandmother would have worn during the spring and summer season.
ReplyDeleteWhat I do like for this time of the year are the cotton dresses, pants and skirts with ethnic prints (African, Mexican or Mediterranean prints f.ex.).
I think she is lovely in that dress. I don't understand the implication that some people have with long hair. She was blessed with healthy, bouncy hair, she should show it off.
ReplyDeletethat gorgeous hair has a life of its own.
ReplyDeletej.
Catherine hair are getting much too long and her dress is just a day time nice dress.

Dss Catherine wears the dress better than the model
ReplyDeleteMignonne petite robe que je trouve champêtre pas du tout dans le style auquel Kate nous a habitués ; magnifiques cheveux qui ont bien poussé !
ReplyDeleteI love the MaxMara dress and it has some beautiful details on the sleeves and bodice--and Catherine looks better than the model! I hope she wears the dress to an event so we can see the whole effect. Glad to see Catherine has an off center part hairstyle in these photos--it is so much softer than the right in the middle part she has been wearing the past few weeks and much more flattering to everyone. She really looks stunning here. Janet
ReplyDeleteJanet, I agree.

I agree. Much prefer Catherine with a side part. The middle part always seems a little harsh. P
DeleteCatherine looks stunning with short, med, or long hair, it comes from the soul, as well as her outward beauty. Her choice to wear her hair is for her to make, just like her choice of clothing. I feel the dress is lovely, and appropriate for the occasion. jj
ReplyDeleteThe dress has some lovely details on the bodice and the sleeves, some of which are hidden by her hair. I think it suits D.Catherine’s classic style perfectly. Yes, it’s a dress that could be worn by a woman of any age, but that does not make it a bad choice for DC. The lighter colour looks fresh and soft. I don’t love a tiny print personally, but I think she wears it well. (V.M.)
ReplyDeleteDuchess Catherine looks a bit tired. The dress is okay. The hair looks fine although she needs a few highlights, and maybe a little shorter. Really for a Max Mara style unless it is silk;it is a bit ordinary.(Tabby)
ReplyDeleteThis looks to be a lovely simple but elegant dress, pleating giving shape. The design and colour of the fabric color suits her beautifully
ReplyDeleteAgreed, Ava.
DeleteI think that the lady makes the dress and not the other way round.
Whatever her outfit, Catherine's class shows even from this simple dress.
P. the original. Yes, excellent point. Its her inner loveliness that always shines through, no matter the outfit.
DeleteI think it's a cute, simple and comfy looking day dress.

Catherine is very pretty. Whatever she wears has a personality of it's own. She is a lady and oozes every aspect of it. Well done.
ReplyDeleteTotaly agree
DeleteI like this kind of feminin dresses. Catherine looks very pretty - and she supports a very worthy cause. Especially since she is a mother-of-three.
ReplyDelete@ Coralie. The fact that she is a mother-of-three has nothing to do with supporting a very worthy cause. I'm sure if she was a mother-of-two she would also support this worthy cause and also if she was a mother-of-four.
DeleteCome si fa a giudicare con quel poco visto?
ReplyDeleteCiao da Rossella
When I read the previous comments Duchess Catherine cannot do wrong. Yes she is beautiful, yes she sometimes has beautiful dresses and coats etc...But she is just human and humans sometimes wear dresses and pant suits and coats that are not looking good. Don't forget that most of the European Queens and Princesses are supporting worthy causes. So, don't idealize her like she is the only one. The others have also class, personality and inner loveliness and a few have more children than she has. We are on this blog to talk about fashion not to discuss someone's behavior, character, loveliness, etc...
ReplyDeleteTotally agree with you, Aonymous 8/5/22 18:53; some people on this blog give the impression they're personal friends with a royal and go to extent in telling others what a lovely personality one's and will therefore have only positive comments on the royal of his/her preference .... there's a Spanish lady who can't accept any less positive comment about queen Letizia's fashion choices every now and then ..

ReplyDeleteIf the Duchess of Cambridge is getting so much affection and admiration from the public, there must be a reason beyond her fashion choices.
You do not need to know any royal lady personally to detect how classy and refined she is and this feature very often shines through her outfits too.
Someone also said that your eyes are a reflection of your soul.
Catherine is classy both in her ensembles and in the way she approaches people, looks at them , moves and also stands for major causes.
Class is mainly a question of manners and good breeding and comes from within in my view.
Anyway ,the DoC Is just one example because classy people do exist also outside royalty.
Q.Maxima often puts her foot wrong as to her sartorial choices but her class and loveliness shines from her eyes and actions all the same.
You can question fashion but some ladies' class and loveliness will always remain untouched and are something which can be easily perceived.
