On October 29, 2021, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium held a reception at the Castle of Laeken in order to honor and congratulate the Belgian athletes who won medals in the 2020 and 2021 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The King and Queen thanked the athletes for their efforts. In addition to the athletes, their coaches and a delegation from the Belgian Olympic and Interfederal Committee and the Belgian Paralympic Committee were also present at the reception.
