The first photo of the newborn Prince Julian of Sweden has been released by the Swedish Royal Court. The photo was taken by his father Prince Carl Philip. King Carl XVI Gustaf revealed his grandson’s name and dukedom in a cabinet meeting this morning at the Royal Palace in Stockholm. His full title is Prince Julian Herbert Folke of Sweden, Duke of Halland.
On March 28, 2021, Sunday, in connection with the birth of Prince Julian, a Te Deum thanksgiving service was held at the Royal Palace Chapel in Stockholm. King Carl XVI Gustaf, Queen Silvia, Prince Carl Philip, Prince Alexander, Erik Hellqvist, Marie Hellqvist and Lina Hellqvist attended the thanksgiving service.
Awww! He resembles his mother
ReplyDeleteYes he does! Might have his father's eyes, however. Hard to say. Beautiful boy!! Eve
DeleteJulian is a lovely name. Happy Birthday and welcome, little Baby :)
ReplyDeleteYes, he is so sweet and the family seems to happy.
DeleteBut I wonder why crown princess Victoria & Daniel made an 'excuse' not to attend the Te Deum... If felt wrong, they must understand the symbolic value of attending or not attending.
Princess Madeleine has made no comment neither on her Instragram -
so they don´t seem too sympatico the two sisters.....

DeleteEver heard of C-19?
Apperently they were already well and working- so with safe distance in the church it would have been a nice gesture to see them.
DeleteOf course one doesn't expect them to join if still being ill.
Herzig der Kleine - sein älterer Bruder Alexander mit seineen langen Haaren auch :) :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful cutie pie. Congratulations to all the family.
DeleteMakes me go quite clucky.
Fashion wise, nice outfit worn by Queen Silvia.
Haven't we seen it before?
Good to see a baby photo that shows a baby as opposed to random limbs as shown in some recent baby/child photos from the UK royal family. Nice unusual name and good to see Prince Alexander and Princess Sofia’s family at the Te Deum
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely agree beautiful photo of the baby who looks like his mama.
DeleteNo one owes the public pictures of their babies. Why should their lives be an open book? No one born into a royal family asked to have that life. The press is more invasive than ever, and the public is more demanding than ever. We should be grateful they are sharing any pictures with total strangers. ~d
DeleteI agree with D. Just accept what you can get. It's disgusting that people feel the need to demand baby photos of Princess Eugenie's son, for instance, when he's not even a royal. He's a private citizen, for goodness sake. Eugenie is tenth in line to the British throne and she's not a paid member of the royal firm. She doesn't owe anyone anything.
DeleteIt is different in this case, because Prince Carl Philip is fourth in line to the Swedish throne, and Julian is born as a Prince.
To both Anons, I entirely agree with you that there is no requirement for private or indeed public figures to provide photos of their offspring. What is pointless is photos of a child’s hand or foot or back which are then published as ‘baby photos’ by the media when they could literally be of any random child.

DeleteI agree with you ........ the press is more invasive than ever and WE, the public, are more demanding than ever.
So präsentiert man ein Neugeborenes wahrhaft königlich :)
ReplyDeleteAlexander ist ein so strahlender Wonneproppen , sehr
sympathisch.
He's all Sofia except for the eyes. The nose is especially similar and I love Sofia's button nose
ReplyDeleteMimi
A beautiful baby boy. I think he favors his father, and his cousin, Princess Estelle.
ReplyDeleteHe certainly looks pretty cute; nice name. There are quite a few little royal babies around at the minute. Congratulations to the family.

ReplyDeletewe don't have to be "grateful" for it
to "be allowed" to see a baby photo from any royal family
Without the public there would be no kings and their families
who are allowed to live at the expense of the state.
For me this is a form of entertainment, not a
Act of gratitude.

agree 100 per 100 /ww.
DeletePrincess Eugenie, for instance, doesn’t live at the expense of the state and she pays her taxes, so she doesn’t owe you anything. Non-royals, like her child, are not your property.
DeleteYou see plenty of Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis - they’re the future of the monarchy. Be happy about that, because those young royals are the ones that actually matters.
Anonymous. D , of course no one owes people pictures of their baby and if they want privacy so be it but if you are going to put a picture out, it is lovely to have a proper photo.
ReplyDeleteYou don’t get to decide what Princess Eugenie and Jack put out to the world

ReplyDeletePrince Julian of Sweden such a cute little baby ❤…… but no HRH title, I see .
ReplyDeleteIn future only children of a Crown Prince/Princesse will get that title.
