King Carl Gustaf, Crown Princess Victoria, Queen Silvia, Prince Carl Philip, Princess Estelle

On the morning of March 26, 2021, Princess Sofia gave birth to a son at Danderyd Hospital in Stockholm. The boy is the third child of the Princess. At 6 pm, Princess Sofia and Prince Carl Philip left Danderyd's hospital with the newborn prince and went their home, Villa Solbacken. His grandfather King Carl Gustaf, alongside Crown Princess Victoria, will announce the baby’s names and duchy at a cabinet meeting on March 28.

A Te Deum service will be held on the morning of March 28 at the Chapel of the Royal Palace in the presence of King Carl Gustaf, Queen Silvia and Prince Carl Philip. The newborn prince is seventh in line of succession to the throne and the eighth grandchild for King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia. The christening for the new royal baby will take place in the next few months. It may be different than previous royal christenings due to the pandemic restrictions in Sweden.
