The exhibition contains more than 1000 of the most important objects in the museum’s collection. After the opening, the Queen was given a guided tour of the exhibition. Many of the pieces in the exhibition have not been on display to the public for many years, and some of them will be totally new for visitors of the museum.

  1. Very pretty. I am always happy to see an old woman wearing something nice, something that could be worn by a woman half her age or less, instead of wearing something "age appropriate". Which proves that old women do not have to dress "age appropriately". - (I don't use the euphemism "older woman". Being 80 or 70 means one is old and it should not be a word to avoid.) - Anyway, this suit is simply pretty and her jewellery (around the neck) is an individual and extraordinary accent for a simple outfit.

    1. I guess Queen Sonja's biological age is much lower than her chronological age, thanks to her active and outdoorsy lifestyle. A great example to us all! And she looks great in this outfit, too.

  2. Wow! What a fresh, yet classy outfit and jewelry the Queen is wearing. She looks taylored/elegant. Great outfit for her. Only quibble is the brown purse/bag she is carrying. Would have finished the outfit totally if it had not been 'slouchy' looking, and had been in a dark gray/black color.

  3. Wow! Her Majesty looks GOOD! I find it hard to believe that The Queen is 83 years old.

  4. That suit is impeccably tailored to her body and she looks amazing! She's a beautiful woman and yes, it shows that you can still be fashionable and look awesome at an advanced age :) I can only hope I'll look half as good as she does when I'm in my eighties ;-)

    3. Agree, she looks quite good, she looks 10 years below her age. Many things contribute to that, her style, figure, and nice hair color (yes, back to a recent discussion here on that subject) etc...

  5. Excellent suit design and she has such great taste in modern jewellery. Bold silver on tweed fabric--stunning choice. I would've gone with brighter shoes and purse.
