  1. Oh no! Queen Mathilde has taken up with the "coat over the shoulders" thing so beloved by Queen Maxima. To make matters worse, the coat is a boring dull colour, not even something flamboyant or cheerful. However, I do like the dress, shoes and gloves. The dress is a perfect length and looks as if it is a flattering fit. Just ditch the coat.

    1. Not only the coat, also the gloves, like Maxima. The temperatures are still mild in BE, around 16°C.

    2. I so agree with the coat thing, it bugs me so. I know people say it's fashion, but nope. Put it on or take it off I say, LOL. Otherwise, I like the outfit. I'm not mad at the colors, I like the duller pallet, suitable for autumn.

    3. She might be doing the gloves because of Covid. Dress gloves "look" better than plastic ones.

  2. It's fine - it's just all a bit blah in terms of colour. Don't love it.

  3. Always nice to see Mathilde again.
    Beautifull autumn colours.
The woolen coat a lovely camel/ taupe(.?), but was better put on.

  4. Both colors are a bit dull, the coat over the shoulders has more to do with weather conditions than a real intention, I think.

  5. The colors are very autumnal and do coordinate well. The dress does look too tight in the photo of her getting out of the car, but the pull is not there is the other photos. A lot of Mathilde's dresses are too tight, so this is probably no exception. The detail at the waist is interesting. I like the color of her shoes, but not the vamp. It is covering too much of her foot so it shortens the look of her leg. The earrings are a very nice compliment. I like the coat over the shoulders. It is perfectly acceptable to wear the coat that way. It is a chic look.

  7. Oh No Queen Mathilde; one should never touch the front of a mask, its' a medical thing about the virus/germs.
Kind of a drab, '1940's era' look. Nothing wrong with the look, just not her usual style.

  8. Visiting a food bank calls for a much simpler outfit without gloves. Sorry. Poor optics.

    1. Some of us just get up and get dressed and don't worry about optics.

Also the gloves may have something to do with the current health situation.

What is the ideal outfit for visiting a food bank?

    2. An excellent question, anon 2:28. I wish the experts would weigh in. What does protocol say about the proper attire for visiting a food bank during a pandemic?

  9. Ill fitting across the bodice.
I do like the colors however.

  10. Absolutely love the whole look. Classy, elegant, understated. The cut and drape of the dress are beautiful, love the soft olive color and that everything matches perfectly, even love QM's hair. Not crazy about the over-sized earrings, QM seems to be a fan of large earrings, but they are not enough to detract from the overall look.
