On October 4, 2020, Crown Princess Mary of Denmark participated in a dressage show at Heslegård Sportsrideklub in Heslegård. The competition was the second dressage show that the Crown Princess participated in this year. The Crown Princess scored 70.65% and placed first with the horse Edelman. Crown Prince Frederik accompanied Crown Princess Mary.
At the first dressage show held in Frederiksværk three weeks ago, Princess Isabella accompanied and supported her mother. In Frederiksværk, the Crown Princess scored 72.05% and placed fourth with the horse Edelman.

I think he has always been a handsome man and is ageing beautifully, I'm not a big fan of his beard and it does have a more scruffy look in these pictures but will overlook it as it is a semi private day and he just looks so happy and proud of Mary. He is a wonderful husband I think.
حذفI don't understand some of you. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a man that has a well trimmed beard. Beards are very in right now. They don't necessarily look good on every man, but they are not the mark of Satan for goodness sake!

Well, we have a made up rule about beards having to be one color or they must be shaved off, a declaration that a once good-looking man is, what, now heinous?, and that he looks like an unkempt 65 year-old, non-regal-halfway-stable-keeper.
I find it refreshing to see a royal man that actually knows how to dress down. Too often they are still overdressed for a casual event. It is a sign to me that they are not quite in touch. Frederik looks like a guy that is down to earth and he certainly looks sharp, beard and all!

حذفThe main criterion is having the money to participate in the sport I think. A good dressage horse is expensive, not to mention stabling, feeding and transporting, plus the clothes and equipment. Hats off to her for learning something new. She has the fabulous Danish Royal stables at her disposal - lucky Mary - but she is clearly working hard to learn - it's not easy. Elle.

I am curious to know what was Mary saying to Fred, "hurry up, you need to shape up, enough munching Danish pastries in front of the TV, the lockdown is over, get some exercise..." - my imagination, of course :-) But Fred doesn't seem to mind, so all is well. She has a fabulous physique, slim and trim but not anorexic or painfully skinny (some British counterpart comes to mind...), rather fit and strong. Genetics plays a huge part, of course , but she works on it too, it requires discipline and dedication. Chapeau Princess Mary!

ردحذفAwesome! If I pushed my personal preferences, all men and boys would have very short, closely cut hair on the sides with a little more length on the top. Beards would be "scruff" or a little longer, never more than that. Of course that is not realistic and would be boring. I would never come on here and attack every man with hair that is longer than my personal preference. That is what happens here when it comes to beards. Some hate them so much that some outlandish things have been said. From a trend standpoint, beards are on trend. Not scraggly beards, but as you said, neatly groomed beards. The longer beards are in style as well, but are for hipsters, not royals, and these men worship their beards. They have as many products for their beards than women have for their hair. All in all, Frederik looks good, especially being out of doors with a breeze ruffling his hair. He is happy and relaxed, spending a day with his wife, off duty. I don't think it is a day to judge too harshly. We all need those days.

So... here I go on my (personal and humble) assessment: Mary looks great always. She is well aware of the role and image she needs to play. Not sure she always wants to dress up and go through the motions, but she does it anyway. Also, well, a wife should always be able to have an honest dialogue with her husband. If telling him he looks unkempt sends him in the arms of a younger woman, that’s really not a real marriage. I am sure these two are way above that. Second, as the next king, one should care about looking groomed. Not formal, but nor disheveled either. Otherwise you could in fact confuse him with the stable keeper (and, by the way, if that is the gentleman wearing the navy vest, he looks more regal - again, in my opinion). Beards are trendy, but there are beards and beards. Frederick’s is not the latter (assuming everyone gets the reference to ‘there are dinner jackets and there are dinner jackets. This is the latter’. If you don’t, maybe you should watch Casino Royale). Frederick could do a much better job at keeping his beard in check. Assuming he isn’t planning on joining some religious cult/monastery (I do expect with anticipation all the indignant responses. Although can’t promise when I will have a chance to check this one again, life has a way of getting in the way of it). Thank goodness for all of us seeing this as a little silly thing we do on the side, indeed! CH
