  1. I like the dress and shoes, and the re-wear.

  2. Oh ladies, just have a look at those two photos [2013/17]! Her hair neat and styled professional! Oh, what a sight! I almost can't scroll away, and go out off this blog! So good to see the "old" Maxima, with her hair, combed, and styled to the nines!

    1. I think you see different pictures
In the pictures I see it’s the same old story, in an oldfashioned dress and with a not really relaxed smile.

    2. Royalty fan: The high-level events from 2013 & 2017 (and other such) might have garnered international attention, hence more attention to her hair. This current appearance was "at home" and dealing with kids (although she does look nice here). But yes, the condition of her hair from years of bleaching has deteriorated. ~Laurel~

    1. Anon 7:12 PM, yes I mean those 2 photo's, from 2013 & 2017. And Anon 7:38 PM, I guess we have to wait for the world to get back to normal, and the royal ladies can dress again, in all their fineries. And then see if Maxima, will have her hair trimmed, and styled, like in previous years

  4. I like the styling in 2013/17 much more. The belt is not necessary. It is stopping the eye instead of creating a longer line. The platform shoes are dated and too heavy for this dress. I would have liked to have seen the shoes she wore in 2017 or similar. Sadly, she is back in her shiny stockings. Since she is tan right now, I wish she had just gone bare legged. The length is good on Maxima. The earrings are something I can't find the right words for. I don't know what she was thinking here. They are so big and don't compliment the dress.

For me, continually complaining about her hair is pointless. It is not going to change anytime soon. We don't know the reason her hair is so damaged. It could be the result of a health issue. The only way for it to look good on her official engagements is to wear extensions for the time being, and that would just lead to more criticism from the readers here.

    1. Yes you could be right , but there' s no reason why she should jeep her split ends!!

    2. I suppose these LK Bennett shoes are the same as the ones Kate used to wear some time ago in the nude colour.

  5. Dress, cardi and shoes are nice, earrings are extremely over the top but she can pull it off.

  6. The dress is really nice on her. Good pattern and length. Black patent leather shoes I am not so sure of. The model is too heavy in relation to the dress. The ones in 2017 were more suitable. No to the earrings.

  7. Love the dress, think scarf is unnecessary. It seems that Máxima cannot resist a statement piece, yesterday it was a hideous belt and today, its huge earrings. Wonder what we’ll get next week at Prinjesdag, a massive hat?

  8. Love the earrings, love the dress! LadyM

  9. The earrings are fun, typical Queen Maxima :) !!!

  10. These earrings may be from Prada, but the model looks extremely unhappy to wear them

  11. Anon@ 8:10 you took the words out of my mouth. This dress is OK, although the very pronounced flare of the skirt is not the most flattering for her, and the belt instead of defining the waist just cuts the figure in half and gets lost on such amount of fabric. The shiny hose and platform shoes are unattractive. All in all she doesn’t look terrible, but with a few changes show would have looked great.
@Laurel, I totally disagree with the statement about being busy with the kids and therefore not paying attention to her hair, this woman lives in a palace has a yacht and has a very substantial staff . One of her outfits, cost more than what a hairdresser makes in a month, she herself could very well manage a soft ponytail with a little spray and voila!! It’s her choice not to take care of her hair, and I for one respect that and there is no need to find excuses for her priorities. Not a big deal, but since this is a fashion blog, we tend to talk about fashion choices.

  12. Am I the only person who thinks the way she is wearing that cardigan is ridiculous?

Put your arms inside the sleeves, woman! Or if you must wear it like a cape, unbutton it!

    1. I agree that it should be unbuttoned. It does not match the dress, either.

    2. Why ridiculous? Many European women wear this way cardigans and I do too!

  13. Nice dress, really like it.
    Belt: good.
    Scarf: bad.
    Earrings: hideous.
Shoes: had been better in navy. Black´s too heavy.
And a cardigan is not a cape.

  14. Anon 12 19, you are not alone. I can understand the cardigan draped over the shoulders, if the temperature is cool but not cold but once you button it, it looks ridiculous as you say. I think the dress is both smart and flattering but agree that the scarf is unnecessary. Generally like big earrings but these are just a bit over the top.

Split ends are most visibile in lots of pics, not only in this post.
    I' m not inventing anything.
Please, let everybody have their own views on the base of the pics proposed.
    Thank you.

  17. I think I am going a bit crazy I actually am beginning to like her hair like this. I think her summer sunny holiday has actually improved what its condition looks like. When I look at the older photos in this dress I prefer her present hair. Maybe I too have been in this country too long. Unkempt hair appeals now.

    1. Hair should not be "perfect". The days of a sprayed helmet of hair are long gone. It should be perfectly imperfect.
