On May 28, 2020, Queen Maxima of The Netherlands visited the Isle of Texel in order to receive information about the effect of the Coronavirus on tourism. On the island, the Queen heard how entrepreneurs in the hospitality and tourism sector are affected by the corona crisis. Texel is the largest of the ‘Waddeneilanden’ (Frisian islands).
I like the top. Its a nice vibrant colour and fits well with the holiday vibe of Texel. I don’t like the pants but it is rare that Máxima actually wears a pair i like. I am also convinced she wears shoes that are slightly too small for her.
ReplyDeleteShe has big feet. There are no shoes in her size, (43 Dutch size). Of course she can have shoes tailor made for her is she really wants.
DeleteIf you wear high heels you will inevitably slide forward in the shoes. It can't be helped. if you have longer toes than normal and fairly narrow feet your toes are always going to hang over the edges of the sandles unless some kinde soul will make you made to measure sandles. How do I know? I have narrow feet, long toes and know how hard it is to find sandles that fit properly
DeleteWorking hard and looking great.
ReplyDeleteQuite appropriate outfit for the event, I like it.
ReplyDeleteOh, oh, oh, it’s getting worse and worse...
ReplyDeleteNo. Just: no.
ReplyDeletethis must have been what was in the brown bag the other day. another no
ReplyDelete;-))
DeleteI laughed harder than I should have...
DeleteI like her pants. Love the colour of her top ...however, I find it a little too baggy; I think that it would look better on her if it would be more adjusted. Judy
ReplyDeleteShe is fabulous in every way! She always looks regal, even when wearing fun vacation attire. Always happy!
ReplyDeleteShe has such a bright, exuberant personality, its infectious. Always enthuestic on her visits. Her smile brightens up the day. Lovely bright top. Her shoes are divine.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree. She can wear what ever and she still looks good. - Siri
DeleteI also completely agree.

Nothing regal about this outfit, or hair, just looks messy, she is not on vacation, she is on a visit to discuss consequences of COVID-19, so should have dressed in appropriate fashion, as well as wearing her hair tied back.
ReplyDeleteI am sure this is appealing to most of the Dutch population; they are often relaxed people. A working meeting yes but at the seaside. This is really ok for me. For the hair the wind is playing a part. In the same line as Qn Mathilde's outfit except the hair, in the previous article. Orange would be a totally impossible color for myself in spite of the brightness, I don't like it for Qn Elisabeth neither.
DeleteWhat is appropriate attire to discuss COVID-19, You should be thanking her for bringing awareness to this horrible scourge. If she saves one life do you really think they care what she wears, of course not.....And one more thing, you wear your hair tied back!!!
DeleteGood grief!!
ReplyDeleteOH real grief what has got into her lately.
DeleteI think the pants are probably OK. in fact full length. She just decided that she should not get them sandy and wet on the beach so just before she left home she asked her dresser to fold the bottoms up quickly and tack them up or maybe even did a quick fix herself.
I don't think the nalerina story is true! I believe the pants were intended to be worn in this way, and I see nothing wrong with that. And I don't think they are too wide, they look ok at the waist level, just styled in this way.
DeleteLa couleur lumineuse du haut au col "officier" de Maxima lui va à merveille même s'il est un peu trop grand et son pantalon trop large. Superbes ses chaussures ; je lui envie !
ReplyDeleteD’accord avec vous.
DeleteThe Queen looks beautiful and her charming personality makes her shine as always!
ReplyDeleteShe looks fine - love the colours, the style is very her. Hair would look better, IMO, up, especially as it seems windy.
ReplyDeleteReally can't see how this outfit resembles vacation wear.

She is absolutely a personality and always working hard. But I really don't know why she has a lot of these " culottes ". Terrible. Colours of the outfit are nice and give a sunny holiday feeling. And Texel is above all an island for holidays. Anna
ReplyDeleteThe colours, the style, the smile, the great weather - I think she looks fantastic.
ReplyDeleteShe is suitably and appropriately dressed to her surroundings and purpose.

The pants, yes. Fun color and cut, especially for a vacation related engagement. The top, no. It's too voluminous with the pants. A good tailor would have fixed this problem. Should we send her one? And she knew she would be outside, no excuse for wearing her hair down to be a disaster, oh wait. As for the earrings, her big, bold taste in full force.

She may be loved by her constituents, but she's a royal big mess in the way she dresses and presents herself. She reminds me of a circus performer always laughing no matter what the occasion and wanting to be in the spotlight. No class.
ReplyDeleteIf we enter into nuance thinking, I would say she has class on real formal occasions, when SHE feels it is needed, which can be seen as limited to a minimum. For the rest yes she rather goes for spontaneity, and relaxed or even unconventional style in all areas, maybe far away from usual class standards, particularly for her jobs at national level. I admit not appealing to everyone but, I think, to a majority of Dutch people. I saw recently pictures of a state visit in France and was appropriately dressed and behaving. I also get a good impression from her speeches where she appears quite knowledgeable. Discretion in style is not her cup of tea.
DeleteOh, you dare!
DeleteBut sadly I totally agree!
Queen Max is looking pretty good.
ReplyDeleteYes indeed, whatever she wear she looks good. Best dressed royal. She is always looks very good
DeleteMaxima can wear orange successfully. What she cannot wear successfully is volume on both top and bottom. Her pants are fine, but her outfit would look better with a top that fit closer to the body. I like her shoes and agree with comments above that she seems to wear shoes that are too small. If I converted her size correctly, she should be able to find shoes in a size US11. They wouldn't need to be custom made. If properly fitted, her foot should not slide forward either. I have a narrow foot, and love my heels. I would only have a problem with my foot sliding forward if my shoes were too wide. I suspect her shoes are simply too short. I think this falls, again, to the problem of not having a stylist.
ReplyDeleteRespect for all at all times. Hats off to Q. Maxima for travelling during this Pandemic. Her attire is not important to me, but the message of her visit to Texel is. How did she get there? Boat, car, fly? Safety n good health to all.
