Japanese Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako hosted a new year reception

On January 1, 2020, Emperor Naruhito and Empress Masako of Japan and other members of Japanese imperial family attended a New Year reception held for ambassadors to Japan at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo after visiting former Emperor Akihito and former Empress Michiko. The reception is held each year traditionally at the beginning of new year.

    1. Not happening there. They always wore long white gloves and probably will continue doing so. Long sleeves make not much sense when wearing these kind of gloves.

    2. Thank you! I thought long sleeves aren't suitable for this kind of event. Empress is wearing it but no one else...So I was just curious. I guess she has own style and not following the 'rules'.
