The 233rd annual formal gathering of the Swedish Academy

On December 20, 2019, King Carl XIV Gustaf, Queen Silvia, Crown Princess Victoria and Prince Daniel attended the 233rd annual formal gathering of the Swedish Academy at the Stock Exchange in Stockholm. As a tradition, the Swedish Academy finishes its working year by holding a formal gathering at the Stock Exchange Building, every year on December 20. The Swedish Academy was established in 1786 by King Gustaf III and aims to promote the Swedish language and Swedish literature. (Crown Princess Victoria wore a long sleeve gown by Camilla Thulin.)

      @11:34pm - Not every royal event involves every royal couple. Besides, the king pared down the royal family, which also affected the Swedish Academy. The focus is to be on Victoria and her family. Don't worry, Carl Philip & Sofia will be at other holiday events (one on 21Dec, I believe). I personally prefer the pared-down version of the SwRF. Svensk Damtidning currently has an article up about this. *Rose*

    Superbe toilette dans cette couleur rouge/bordeaux qui va à ravir à Victoria ; je n'aime vraiment pas les fourrures même si elles sont fausses.. Les boucles d'oreilles sont à mon goût !!!

    Okay, Sweden - THIS is your royal family (with two young children at home at Haga). These are the important ones. Looks so much better with fewer people.

      Not really. But it is what it is. I get why they did it. Family just getting too big. And I think the other two siblings are better off truthfully. In many ways. Doesn’t mean I am not selfish and want to see them but we have actually seen Carl Philip and Sofia a lot this season. So I think they will Continue their causes and go to events as needed for support. It will be fine. Madeline seems to like Florida Sarah

    Victoria looks very nice, but Queen Silvia looks stunning. The soft wavy hair, her face aglow, and her pearls against her black dress, all enhance her beauty. Seeing her and the King holding hands is very sweet--I missed that the first time I looked at the photos.

    Both eh Queen and Crown Princess Victoria look tremendous. Great to see Victoria in something sleek and simple after the awful overdone dresses at events recently. This is perfect for her.
