    1. Hedy: So true! Although I am not a fan of that hemline (skirt), I wish this beautiful look for some other royal ladies... Pure classic elegance.

  2. When I saw the first picture I thought OH! how stunningly 1950's and supremely elegant. Then I saw the hemline OH! DEAR!

    1. With a traditional hemline this skirt would lose a lot of its glamour

  3. Ugh - I get the point of wearing H&M Conscious to support their efforts but this is just awful. I don't know that I've ever seen any of their items look good on any of the royal ladies. This dress seems like it's wearing Queen Letizia rather than the other way around. Not flattering. DMP

  4. Both the Queen and the woman in the striped dress have impeccable posture which makes everything they wear look that much more attractive.

    1. The woman in the striped dress is Begoña Gomez, the acting prime minister's wife and yes she has impeccable taste!

  5. Élégantes toutes les deux mais je préfère nettement la toilette portée par l'épouse de Pedro Sanchez... Magnifiques ses escarpins !!!

    1. I find those green pumps very jarring. Thats a difficult shade of green, and more importantly, it doesn´t match the green in the dress.
Those green pumps may work with a white summer dress, or some outfit including this very shade of green, but for this occasion, I find them plain wrong. I would have gone for something warmer (in colour) and likely picked up the maroon(?) colour of the dress.

    2. I agree Achard!! In France and Spain we wear those colours in winter too not only with summer dresses. Obviously as someone else said people do not know a word about other countries.

  6. Love the hair and make up, not a fan of the skirt. The strange high waist makes it look like a maternity outfit and it's just not flattering. Much prefer the striped dress worn by the other lady and also her fabulous green shoes

  7. Letitia is so unbelievably stunningly absolutely gorgeous. A Queen in a class of her own definition.

  8. The Queen looks amazing, very good mix of high fashion and high street.

  9. elegant, classic and stylish. It would be perfect, if the skirt was a little bit (3-5 cm)shorter

    1. There is one queen who is even more beautiful and sublimely elegant than her Jetsun Pema of Bhutan.

  11. Both Queen Letizia and Begoña Gómez look stunning. I like Letizia's skirt and would gladly wear it, but it belongs to the 2016 Collection; Ms. Gómez dress is still available on the PdH website with the original price reduced from 239 to 191 Euros, according to information provided by a spanish magazine.

  13. I don’t think the skirt is particularly flattering - the high front waist plus the longer back hem make it look off balance somehow. It’s as though the skirt has tipped to the back. She’s worn much nicer outfits than this one! (V. M.)

  14. The wife of the Chilean president looks awesome! Letizia not so much. I love the green dress and she wears it really well! Chic and smart and the green shoes give just the right pop of colour. She is the outright winner for me today.

    3. I disagree!! I think Letizia is gorgeous. Mrs. Of the Prime Minister is ordinary. Her dress is good but not special and stunning.

  15. Letizia's skirt is gorgeous! The fabric has such a rich look and the lower hemline in back is quite chic and regal. In videos the flow of the skirt when she walked was so fluid and beautiful. Love it!

  16. I actually love this skirt, it's so 1950's , I specially like the uneven hem, it adds interest to an otherwise common combination, the hair is severe, but she looks rather elegant, I would've added a more substantial pair of earrings . I am not impressed with Ms. Gomez dress, it's not terrible and she has an excellent figure, but is just your typical wrap dress that one would wear to the office, great shoes though.

  19. The high/low silhouette of this skirt is what contributes to its elegance. It is neither too casual nor too formal. True to her commitment to the theme for events, it is reported that the skirt is made of recycled sustainable materials. Hair and makeup and just right for the occasion. We have seen a version of this look in the past. Here, the skirt has an even hem. Pic #5 is frame worthy. https://www.newmyroyals.com/2015/02/king-felipe-and-queen-letizia-visits_20.html

  20. Viewed in profile, I think Letizia's skirt is interesting; viewed from the front, it looks weighted in the back, "off balance" as described in a previous comment. I much prefer the dress of the wife of the acting prime minister. Yes, it is something one might wear to work but, the event was not a formal gathering but a reception for those attending a conference.

    1. Letizia's skirt is a recycled skirt by plastic bottles. Formal???

    2. Anon @5:30. Sustainable materials elaboration it's a little more complex than making skirts out of plastic bottles, I am afraid that you are missing the concept. There are very informative articles that could shed some light into the subject, and although this type of initiatives won't radically alter the planet, every little effort helps. Baby steps!!
Perhaps I misunderstood your comment and it was just a catty remark towards Queen Letizia?
      Regards

Vaya banda.

  21. Yes, this skirt isn't perfect, the higher waist is a little weird. But Letizia makes it look fantastic. And it is a wonderful sartorial statement for the occasion. I think she can make a potato sack look chic, lol.
