  1. Oh I like this very much! I think Q. Maxima’s best style is “refined exuberance” and this outfit exemplifies those descriptors - simple silhouette, flattering colours, good length - with just enough fun details (the appliqué and embellishments) to reflect her personality. (V.M.)

  2. Maxima's look hurts my eyes, especially with the coat on top. There's a difference between festive and whatever this color combo is.

  3. Nice dress, not appropriate hair. Does anybody give her suggestion about hairstyle?

    1. Can you all for once shut the **** up about her hair?? Thank yoy

  4. The Dutch royal ladies all look very nice here, especially Beatrix in her gorgeously detailed black, and Maxima in a strikingly dramatic but not OTT dress in tonal reds. Laurentien's clashing shoes and Mabel's rather short skirt length and opaque tights are the only discordant elements in their otherwise well-chosen attire. My favorite look, though, is Mabel in her charming taupe coat with soft coordinating scarf. Totally adorable. Well done Mabel!

  5. Princess Beatrice, Princess Laurentien and Princess Mabel look lovely in their outfits. Queen M looks over the top again and the hair, why must she continue like this? She is not 20, time to move on to a hair style that reflects her wisdom, her age, and is age appropriate for her, not stringy messy hair. I know as Queen she wants to stand out, but standing out and letting clothes get the best of her is not a good thing for a queen.

    1. Hairstyles don't reflect wisdom, what does that even mean? She can wear her hair how she wants. She likes it down, maybe it could have some volume but that's not what she wants. Maxima isn't boring, she loves bright things with buttons and accents. It's not for everyone but sick of people telling women the appropriate age to do things. Enough. You going to tell Cher to stop wearing her amazing outfits? Or Diana Ross? I don't see people telling older men to stop dating younger women. You going to tell older men to not wear jeans? Grow up, it's 2019. - Ana

    2. @Ana I so agree with you. The best thing is when commenters are telling Royals what's appropriate or not….lololol. And Max has bad hair but it doesn't bother her nor most of the Dutch people. So why making this a point all the time?

    3. Iam Dutch, it doesn't bother me one bit, how Queen Maxima does her hair, IT IS HER CHOICE, and her choice alone, get over it!!!!!!!!!!!!.

    4. I agree with the original poster Dec05 5:33am. Looks like the good queen made sure she wore red to stand out and be easily spotted. Yes, she's a queen; but maybe it's time to grow up a bit and mellow out (but I realize that's not her style).

    5. Ana (or Anonymous 6:11), I don't understand your reply. Cher is a popstar, and so is Diana Ross. A popstar is a different function than a queen. And what has all that to do with "older men dating younger women"?

    1. Dear Captain Marvel, I had the same feeling when I saw these photos. I read somewhere, hope this is correct, that after the tragic death of her husband, Mabel decided to only wear black and white. Her grey coat is very becoming and reflects her colour choices.

  7. Oh my goodness, this dress is just about the worst I've seen lately, I won't qualify it as " fun", if I were to see such outfit on a store rack I would just run away. Princess Beatrix looks very age appropriate and elegant. Love Laurentien dress, and the shoes have the right color to make it more interesting, however I personally don't like platforms. Mabel looks very well on her coat, and average on her dress.

  8. See here How you can destroy the effect of A beautifull dress.(Maxima); Laurentien: weird as ever, Mabel: nice but A bit of color would be better.

  9. Maxima's dress is beautiful and just right for her personal style. Beatrice and Mabel has very nice dresses as well, but I'm not a fan of Mabels tights though. - Siri

  11. Maxima and the King both look scruffy Maxima's hair and the King needs to shave his beard it does not suit. The dress is over the top. The other ladies look lovely especiallyPrincess Laurentien. Luzette

    1. Princess Beatrix has her own style and it is lovely in every way. She is so well and simply dressed since designer Sheila de Vries took over. No screaming colours anymore and beautiful fabrics, which she sometimes buys herself abroad during her holidays.

  17. Ich hätte so gerne die Tasche von Mabel in der etwas kleineren Version! Laurentien und Constantijn gefallen mir am besten. So schön schräg!

  19. Queen Maxima always lightens my evening. Her dress in my favorite colour duo, the coat and the bag as far as I can see in a rather cold cherrytone, that's absolutely perfekt.
Only her tights seem to whitish and unnatural to me, why not just a brown shade with this dress?

  20. Maxima: bad hair, ugly dress, bad posture
Beatrix - Nice hair, nice dress, nice jewelry
    Mabel: nice dress, uncombed hair
Laurentien - nice dress, ugly shoes

  21. Adding some nuance, I wonder who would you like the hairstyle of Beatrix (or similar) for the three younger ladies? Short hair is not in fashion for younger women. I would however add Laurentien's hair is bad as well.
I agree in this case Maxima's posture is not elegant. I am not far away from thinking that Maxima's style is becoming boring.

    1. I do agree! Laurentien’s hairdo is horrible.... a simple bob without a fringe and in a soft hazelnut colour would look so much better.... For Maxima and Mabel I would suggest the hairdo they have now but shorter and especially WELL KEPT. Look at Letizia, long hair, not too long, and shiny.....
Your observation that Maxima’s posture is not elegant, is so right. She is not an elegant woman, on the whole..... maybe she is pretty, and maybe she is vibrant, but elegant she is not.

  22. To all the negative commenters, have any of you even been in Argentina? Have you lived there? Do you have a clue as to their specific culture and style? If the answer is NO, please refrain from strong words. Just because it doesn’t resonate with your (likely European) style, it doesn’t make it bad. Including hairdos.

  23. No hice ningún comentario;he estado en Argentina muchas veces, conozco su cultura-que varía según región-pero las mujeres argentinasde la clase de Maxima-son muy muy elegantes y visten muy bien
