    1. Secrecy because of a black-and-white photo?

  2. Adorable Archie ; il me semble qu'il a le regard de sa maman.. J'aurais bien aimé voir cette carte en couleurs !!!

  3. Not a fan of the black and white Christmas card. However, the baby is adorable, and his expression is priceless.

I don't care for the black and white photo for Christmas. Nor do I like the composition of the photo. The baby's head looks too out-sized and it's jarring to the eye. They could have achieved somewhat the same effect, but composed differently. But that's their choice, I guess. They look happy and the baby seems happy and healthy. In the end, that's all that counts.

  5. Cute baby Archie.

  6. Archie looks like his maternal grandfather, especially the nose (have they met yet?) I don't really like this picture, is a little strange. I wish they had chosen a better picture.

    1. I agree, he looks so much like Thomas Markle! I hope little Archie has met his grandfather. He is very cute, but wish I could see more than just the face.

  10. There are better christmas photos, for sure. But this one is fun. Maybe this pic was not meant to be like this, but then little Archie got curious and crawled to the object of his curiosity. - And, funnily enough, this year many royals just chose an older photo instead of a new photo session.

I must be missing something, but I don't see the baby crawling towards the camera. Wouldn't he be much smaller - more in proportion to his parents? Archie takes up almost the whole space. To me, it looks like two separate pictures superimposed.

  11. It is just a fun picture of a baby crawling towards the camera, to the delight of its parents. It was not posed or planned like that. Chill, people.

  12. The comments here sum up perfectly why I have stopped commenting. Almost every Christmas card has been criticized for one reason or another. These families don't owe an explanation to anyone why they chose the photo they did. The cards should be looked upon as a gift. If you don't like it, too bad. The cards weren't meant for any of us anyway. They were sent to poeple and organizations that aren't looking for faults, but are honored to be remembered and thankful for the Christmas and New Year wishes. I am disappointed, but not at all suprpised, to see that the behavior here couldn't even stop for Christmas.

    1. Chardonn8r, I agree. It's very dismaying. So much negativity and hate. Sad to see this even during the season of joy, love, and togetherness.

    2. Same here @chardonn8r, I have also stopped commenting, this is not anymore the blog we used to know, so many nasty comments these days, so much hate. Why? This was not even a public christmas card, it was an E-mail card to a charity organization, as you said to honour the people they have worked with over the year. I think it was funny, how Baby Archie photobombed the picture when he did not sit still but crawled towards the camera. Everybody wo has children knows that this is how it is. The proud parents laughed in the background, everybody was happy. It is the first christmas for Harry and Meghan as a family. They are happy and had fun taking the photos. How can something so simple and beautiful cause so much hate?

      Delete
    3. Chardonn8r, thank you for you comment, I don't like the picture, but you made me stop my train of thoughts, you are absolutely correct, is a gift, if we don't like it we can politely scroll down and move on.

    5. There is lots of hate. Is it really possible to be ask in a naive way: Where is hate?
Looks as some people from Germany got no insight in the topic facism. Never read "The banality of evil" ?

    6. Well said Chardonn8r. I agree and it's nice to see some others who have kindness towards them. This blog seems to have a lot of negative commenters. I think I'm done with reading these and bring discouraged.
Thanks to the author of the blog. It's nice to have one site to view royals from all over.

    7. @chardonn8r and @Beth,

You two are very valuable for our blog. In your comments, you are focused on fashion and your intention to give up commenting is very saddening. In many posts (especially on Meghan and Charlene), it is very disturbing that comments are not related to fashion and I know that many of our friends gave up commenting for that single reason.

Believe me, many of the incoming comments, especially many of anonymous comments are not published. Filtering hundreds of anonymous comments every day is time-consuming for us and in addition, we may make mistakes. I don't know if closing anonymous comments would be a solution.

Let us close anonymous comments, a decrease will ocur in the number of incoming comments and it would be easier to supervise comments. What would you recommend?

    8. Agree with Elisabeth. To say "I don't like this christmas card" is not "hate". Nowadays the word "hate" is used too often.

    9. Dearest Ms. Helen Electra, thank you for you kind words, it is nice to see you jump on the comments. Let me take the chance to thank you for your great work in that you support us daily with beautiful photos, stories and informations around the royal ladies. This was one of my favourite blogs over the years, I would say one of the rare gems on the internet. I cannot even imagine how much time, passion and work you must invest to keep this blog alive. I think this must be several hours a day and you almost never take a break. Just wow!! I want to personally thank you dear Helen Electra, I have sincerely enjoyed to visit your site, I spend probably several hours altogether over the years here, it was a regular go-to for my coffee break ;-)) and I enjoyed being part of the community. It was mostly a positive and pleasant place to be. The tone has changed over the last one or two years with many 'Anonymous' users entering the comments section. Well I understand, this means even more work for you, to moderate the comments and to delete the worst and disrespectful ones. I don't know what can be the best solution for this. Maybe you could offer a system that everybody can read the blog articles but can only comment after creating an account, deposing their data into a database? This will keep away random trolls.

I will also want to take the chance to say good-bye. I for myself have decided to cut down on social media and online news in 2020. Thank you again, wishing you and everbody a very happy New Year. Love, Beth

    10. @Helen Thank you so much for your response. I appreciate your dilemma. I do not run a blog, so I can't know all that is involved on your end. I can only imagine. As a commenter, I enjoy this blog due to the focus on fashion. Personally, I have no interest in gossip and speculation about people I do not know and never will. I do love to see their fashion choices and discuss them. Over time, the dislike for particular royals has escalated to personal attacks, and fashion comments are lost. I don't see any value in some of the comments that are made because they only serve to spread gossip and distract from the purpose of this blog. I still check in to see your posts and I appreciate all of your effort and research. As for the solution, I wish I knew the right answer. I can see than any solution could hurt the number of comments you get.

  13. What a fun an relaxed photo. They look like a cozy little family.

It's a shame that the first photo was included in this post. That iteration was deliberately tinkered with by editors at a widely distributed tabloid to add fuel to the conspiracy flames.

  15. I love it. Nothing artificial about this photo. Just as it would happen to any of us. Two parents and a curious little guy crawling towards the camera. No better way to show just who they are, happy to spend the holidays as a family of three. No staging and totally spontaneous. Live it!!

    1. Personally I think Marybeth is expressing a very sensible opinion with adequate words. The parents chose, the public likes or dislikes. But by publishing it they have to expect varying reactions, as those expressed here, after all maybe they don't mind at all.

  21. To comment in a respectless way on a baby says a lot. There is envy, there is self-pity and what is most is self-hate. The reason for self-hate is the thing which makes a mature person doing hate to others. They have a feeling of insecurity altough they are very successful on their job. Probably because they think, that they have to be immoral on their job. Actually they knew, that no one would love them, if they knew, what their success is about.
But everybody knows....to look down on others became a drug for them, which prevents them to see their real weak, impotent self. In the end is the price which they pay a life without real love, real trust. Therefor they are trying to do damage all over.

    1. Dear Aar, I think your ananlysis is really going too far. Criticizing a photo is not criticizing the child, he has absolutely no responsibility in the process. It could also be taken the other way around and ask professional photographers about their opinion, rather than go to the psy.

I am also very grateful to the team in charge of the blog, and in my opinion they do it very well, I like it as it is. But if some people want ONLY comments on fashion, then there should only be pictures where one can see rather clearly the clothing worn by the royals. Wearing this or that outfit has also to do with body communication. And my humble opinion is that is what is expected from them in these days.

    3. I want to say thank you for answering very polite on my comment. I feel sorry that I annoyed the readers of the blog. Thank you for hearing my distress (sorry about my English). Actually anger is not a way to initiate a dialog which would be the only way to open ones heart and mind. Mostly people do find things which are new or different threatening. Unfortunately that´s a fact. Many sides try to talk this away, but that´s nonsense. It is not necessarily the intellect, there are also people who are less afraid or not at all. but it is certainly a minority that welcomes the stranger. With a clear heart and without reservations. This is not an achievement that can be assumed for everyone. Thank you for making me thinking. Aar

Thank you to those who monitor the blog and produce it for our enjoyment. Your time and effort are much appreciated.

I think this baby picture is absolutely precious! Spontaneous and fun.

I want to say that there is entirely too much nitpicking in the comment section of this blog. It's tiresome, petty, and has become predictable.
