  2. What a beautiful dress! Wonderful fit and beautifully accessorized. How she can walk in those heels is beyond me, but they look fabulous. (V.M.)

    1. The dress is from a Belgian designer apparently, D van Noten, occassionally also for Qn Mathilde.

    2. Yes, but the brand belongs to the Spanish group PUIG,as Carolina Herrera, Nina Ricci or Adolfo Dominguez

      Delete
    3. Irrelevant that it belongs to a Spanish group. The designer is what is important.

      Delete
    4. It is not irrelevant when in Spain people are asking her to wear Spanish designers and not foreigners, to promoting Spanish brands. The group is what is important, and she is the Queen of Spain ant the Spaniards pay for her clothes.

    5. Anon 1:07..in Spain she is very criticised when she does not wear Spanish designers, so it is very relevant and what's important.

    6. Sorry - but Dries Van Noten is a true Belgian. Nothing Spanish about him.

If the Spanish want to believe that Dries Van Noten is a Spanish designer, because his company was aquired by a Spanish financial group in 2018, OK for me. But he is a Belgian, lives in Belgium, was educated in Belgium, his company is based in Belgium....

And Roberto Torreta is an Argentinian but her company Spanish, the same as Carolina Herrera, Nina Ricci, etc...
As the cars'companies....One thing is the business and another one where the people come from.

He is a Belgian person who works for a Spanish company, I think that is very easy. Nobody has said that he has changed his nationality, I guess that's very difficult in fact and not necessary. Pleople here like arguee.
Anon 10:30...it is NOT, HIS company...he has sold it...as I said it is not so difficult to get it. If you sell your company it is not yours anymore even if you keep working there...

10:30. Most important, the evening was dedicated to celebrating the work of the the winner, Mr. Javier Cercas.
As an ambassador for her country, the queen has an international following simply because of her stylistic choices. She provides subtle advertising not only for the industry, but for Spain itself, as she visits different towns/countries. Jingoism is quite unflattering. Putting a moat around the country (in terms of fashion) will keep freshness of new ideas outside and the local designers competing among each other for the same customers, if the other countries apply your rule of only supporting their citizens. .. If the company is owned by a Spanish group, to be sure the marketing and sales jobs are in Spain. -A-

Dries Van Noten does not work for a Spanish company. A Spanish group bought rhe majority of chares of his company in 2018. The company is based in Belgium.

Following this reasoning Jean-Paul Gaulthier is also a Spanish brand, because (also owned by Puig).

Dear anon,12:23 and 12:33 if you could at least read some Spanish, you might enter in the Puig web where all is explained, even the figures and the way of working. However you still keep here saying nonsense.

BMW is based in Germany but the cars are made in others parts of the world.. Please, you are even ridiculous...have you ever worked in Any company?? what you say is totally incredible.

  3. I loved everything about this look until I saw the last picture with a full-body view. The dress is a stunning design, and hair/make-up/shoes/accessories all perfect, but the length of the dress ruins it for me. This really needed to be knee-length to work.

    1. I almost agree, but I would prefer just below the knee, nobody has nice knees. I also don't like the red shades in her eye make-up.

      Delete
    2. Agree the dress really is a very odd length and rather unflettering. I think she must glue her shoes to her feet. Even though I have long feet I would pitch headlong to the floor if I wore those but I love them.

What a rude comment from Lizzie regarding knees. You have seen everyone's knees in the entire world? I did not think so.

  4. Gorgeous dress, bag and shoes. Her earrings are fantastic too. I like how her hair is curled under and pinned to create a shorter look. Very nice.

  7. Superb dress, shoes, bag, hair. However, I have to agree with Vanessa and say that the length is all wrong and the dress would look miles better if it were at least six inches shorter

  8. Wow! That dress is perfectly tailored, and the pattern is beautiful. That tucked under hairstyle is so flattering and gorgeous. Of course, as usual, her makeup is flawless. Those earrings are perfect, and shoes are eye watering high, lol.

  9. Wow! Elegant, polished, sophisticated. QL at her best. The dress is a tad too long, but not a deal breaker.(she looks better than the model). Hair and makeup, fantastic...and that faux bob last made its appearance before she actually did the chop in 2015. MB

  16. I love the dress color, the complements, the makeup and hair, but for me the waist line do not convence me and specially the next 20 centimeter under, but QLetizia is so elegant that she looks really good!(IMO)

  19. At first I thought she went back to the bob!! What a smart hairdo, tucked under to show a full view of the dress, and it is a fantastic dress, black and gold could look like Christmas wrap, but this floral is awesome, placed right along the body to show the feminine silhouette, helped by the pleats from the bust to below the waist, a hint of sleeve and the most perfect length for a night dinner. Perfection!!

    1. It's true that not everyone finds the same things appealing, but any craftsman who works in better materials cannot afford to use cheap finishes if they expect a buyer to part with their cash at the asking price for snakeskin purses. Sophisticated consumers have a keen eye. Finishes and dyes of the exact color formula also look different when applied to fabric, plastic, leather, and other organic materials. -MB

  25. As you’d expect from Dreis, it’s exquisitely tailored. And so very typical of his style, colours included. Letizia is a bit petite (please don’t jump at me Spanish fans, that doesn’t make anyone less royal or more), so I am not surprised the dress is long. But I think it works better this length than right at the knee (someone said something about no one having nice knees, not sure that it can be generalized quite like that - see Catherine as an exception - but it is true in this case). I think this is a beautiful outfit, if not perfect and she carries it well. Hairdo is also quite beautiful.

    1. Letizia is about 1,70....Obviously Maxima is 1,78 Mathilde is about 1,75. I think that they are tall and Letizia normal but not petite. Her husband is 1,97 though....that's really tall.

      Delete
    2. Yes, Letizia is average height. I, too, married into a family of giants and was constantly gifted with petite clothes, which were too short for me! Next to tall people one can look petite but she is not. Her hair is fabulous! I didn't think she could look more beautiful but this hair length really fits her face shape best. Not that looks are everything but wow she is my fashion inspiration! I hope the king and queen have a good relationship. Its nice to see a few pictures of them smiling at each other and holding hands.

  26. If the dress was shorter part of the pattern would be lost and it would not look right.

Hermosa y elegante.
