  1. I really donot know what to think of this:
Maybe it coúld be nice, when not so tight and with washed and combed hair.....

  2. Why can't you see the pictures?

  3. Pss Beatrix looks lovely. I don't know what Q Maxima was thinking, this is not a very nice dress.

  4. already seen that dress, still quite doubious about it....

  5. Some dresses should only stay in the mind of the designer. This is such a bad cross between an ugly tablecloth and tacky fur. Same bad hair, only positive for me are the red shoes.

  6. Horrible dress. It's like a costume.

  7. Wow love this vibrant colors dress .Very well fitting and appropriate for the event. The king and the queen mother are color coordinating with her. They all look great and happy.

  9. I love the bold colours but it just isn’t very flattering - the horizontal lines and fringe trim make her look much wider than she really is. It’s puzzling to me why she’d find this appealing. (V.M.)

  10. This looks a bit like a costume to me too (carneval or something), although I think it had been nice if only toned down a bit. If the top yellow thing (strangely cutting across her upper body) was gone, and the furry things and other ribbon embellishments in the skirt had been coloured panels of the same fabric as the main part of the dress, then why not. I don´t mind the colours, it´s just way to much going on there (and a bit too tight).
The jacket of the same design is unwearable no matter what.

  11. Have to agree with the majority on this one. Same tacky dress, too ill fitting, and hair such a mess. How can she go out of the dressing room looking like this? The former queen looks lovely. The king needs to get rid of the beard, it ages him.

  12. The dress looks like a Sesame Street character. In fact, after looking at the bottom of the dress, someone needs to check on the cookie monster to make sure he is ok.

  13. What happened to her? She dresses up like peacock.

  14. I am not a fan of this as either a dress or coat. There is too much going on between the various trims, feathers and colors. If it was all the same shade it could be quite pretty. The different trims and feathers adding texture/ points of interest.

  15. I really do try to be positive about Maxima who has so many great qualities but sometimes I despair. The underlying colour is nice and the shoes are great, beyond that there's really nothing good to say about this. Thanks, Anon 3:10 I'm glad to see that there's someone else agrees that the beard does not suit the king at all.

  16. This isn't the first time that she is wearing this dress as I remember it from before. I can't be sure about the first time but I believe it was in some kind of theatrical or carnival context to the event she was attending, and so the dress was actually a very clever way of wearing an unusual designer piece.
However wearing it now out of that context, and it being a tighter fit than before makes it less appealing to me. I'm all for fun, quirky designs and love Maxima for being such a good natured sport to wear them - she's the perfect person to wear such fun.
The dress is not a bad dress at all, but I'd have done away with the yellow stuff in favour of a different more compatible colour if those bits had to be there. I don't mind all the other textures. It's a fun dress that only few can pull off.

  17. Um, what in the world?! I just don't get Maxima. She is such an intelligent woman, yet she can't seem to get fashion right. I mean, at all. This look is beyond words for me.

Well! Queen Maxima certainly looks colourful! The red shoes are a lovely addition. She looked very happy, enthusiastic and engaging, that is all that matters. I will leave it at that. The former Queen looks divine. Love her suit and brooch, the colour is stunning, her brooch is lovely.

  22. Maxima's ready for the carnival or something. And how she dares to step out with hair like that is beyond me. The others, altogether too much electric blue.

  30. I quite like the dress. Sure, it’s not for everyone, you need Máxima’s charisma and positive self-confidence to pull it off. It suits the occasion perfectly, when the main person is an open-minded cultural icon, who probably is not afraid of artistic personality in clothing either.

Anon 10:45, I say the same thing. Beatrix and Maxima, are very, very close, as Beatrix is also a very friendly, warm people's person. I will never forget on the day of her abdication, she gave Willem-Alexander, Maxima hand's, squeezes. So wish she could give Maxima, just friendly advice, on her appearance's, specially her hair.

  33. I think this is unfortunately one of those times where you say, "It wasn't the right occasion." I actually think the dress is super fun, but wearing it while handing out a prize to an adult? No. Had this been worn at a visit to a children's hospital or school or even handing out prizes for youth, this would have been great. It just seems juvenile in context to what she's doing and who she's with.

I wish I could have ask her very friendly, wish I could've met her. And very polite, ask her to call Laurentien's-, and queen Mathilde's hair dresser's. Because I absolutely love their neat, short hairstyle's
